In the #1 New York Times bestselling Mercy Thompson novels, the coyote shapeshifter has found her voice in the werewolf pack. But when Mercy's bond with the pack and her mate is broken, she'll learn what it truly means to be alone...

Attacked and abducted in her home territory, Mercy finds herself in the clutches of the most powerful vampire in the world, taken as a weapon to use against alpha werewolf Adam and the ruler of the Tri-Cities vampires. In coyote form, Mercy escapes only to find herself without money, without clothing, and alone in the heart of Europe...

Unable to contact Adam and the rest of the pack, Mercy has allies to find and enemies to fight, and she needs to figure out which is which. Ancient powers stir, and Mercy must be her agile best to avoid causing a war between vampires and werewolves, and between werewolves and werewolves. And in the heart of the ancient city of Prague, old ghosts rise.

Mercedes Thompson-Hauptman is a badass!

I know it's been said before and it will continuously be said about our favorite coyote shifter. Mercy, the most underestimated yet the most powerful supernatural in Patricia Briggs' universe not by strength, but by connection, finds herself neck deep in vampire politics in the middle of Eastern Europe.

I thought I've read everything Pbriggs could possibly make Mercy and Adam endure and obviously I'm wrong. SILENCE FALLEN is not as emotionally charged or even heartbreaking than other previous installments, instead it's one of those nail-biting-white-knuckled suspense action adventures full of close calls and near misses.

And perhaps what I find most interesting in SILENCE FALLEN is the storytelling style. It's not exactly told in a linear fashion, the timelines overlap as Mercy and Adam alternate in sharing their side of the story. PBriggs will definitely command and demand your attention here lest you miss something or worse, get confused with the way the plot unfolds.

I'm also not sure if PBriggs is hinting at something, I'd like to think that she is because I want this universe to keep expanding so we keep reading; but is Daryll going to have his own pack and/or spin-off? I sure hope so! Oh! and my boyfriend, Bran The Marrok Cornick made quite an interesting appearance on this one. I also love the fanboy references. *wink wink*

If you're a fan of this series, don't you dare miss SILENCE FALLEN. If you've lost interest, I encourage you to give this one a go, it just might renew your enthusiasm for it.

  1. I just finished this and really loved it too! I still need to write my review up for it though, I can't believe I forgot! Gah, I'm so scattered lately! I'm so glad you loved this every bit as much as I did. It was kind of nice having the alternate POVs and I loved the twist at the end with Mr. Smith. ;)

  2. I finished this the other night and I really loved it. Just what I needed to break me out of me out of my reading slump I also realized that I need to start Alpha and Omega pronto because I was lost when it came to Bran.

  3. Still halfway through the first book. Bah.

  4. Yes I thought this one better than the previous one, I really enjoyed it!

  5. Yes, she just keeps putting out there Mercy stories that grab the reader in different ways. Love that this one went on the road to Central Europe. LOL, yes Bran is always welcome in a story.
Oh, and I had the same radar ping when there was mention of Darryl leading a pack.

  6. I really need to pick up this series. I have read nothing but great things and still have yet to try it. 10 books and still going strong.

  7. so is the writing style in this one different from her others? I guess thats one way to shake things up.
Glad you liked this one, 10 books in, glad to hear she can keep it fresh.
I've been meaning to read this one but I didn't like Alpha and Omega and am a little wary

  8. I'm glad you enjoyed this newest installment, and I like alternating timelines so that's a new writing style for her right? One day, I hope to pick this up. :)

  9. I really liked the timeline on this and devoured it ;)

  10. Great review. I love Mercy this such a fabulous women. Can't wait for this installment. ^_^

  11. I enjoyed this one too but that timeline hopping I wasn't a huge fan of.

  12. I can't wait to dive into this one but I have one ahead of it (in the series - because I'm always woefully behind) to finish first. And, um, Braine...Bran is *my* boyfriend! *wink*

  13. That little twist at the end. LOL That was great. After I heard that about the timeline, I was a little worried, but it didn't feel weird at all to backtrack in the timeline while reading the story. Great review.

  14. Loved it - I agree it was a great addition. Already can't wait for the next one.

  15. I haven't read this series, but I am planning to start this series one day. It sounds like a good one and I like the sound of her being a coyote shifter. It sounds like this was a good installment in this series.

  16. I love that this character is bad-ass! I really need to read her in the books. :D

  17. I'm really hoping I get to love with this one. So far I'm neutral on it. I think I just wasn't in the paranormal mood. I've been reading for a week now and barely at 50% in. Eep!

  18. The cover for this is beautiful, I kinda really want to pick it up but not sure I wanna start a 10+ book series haha
