Bought, Borrowed & Bagged [224]: #LemonySnicket #NPH

BB&B (Bought, Borrowed and Bagged) is a weekly meme, inspired my The Story Siren and Pop Culture Junkie, where we share with you the books that we have bought, borrowed or bagged (won or gifted) plus a recap of the previous week's reviews, upcoming reviews, ongoing events and book movie or television news.

BB&B is an homage Barron's Books & Baubles from Karen Marie Moning's smash hit series, Fever.

Big & Small

I haven't read the books, wasn't impressed by the movie adaptation, but Neil Patrick Harris just might redeem Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events, premiering on Netflix January 13, 2017. Looking at the trailer, the series is promising and the humor seems to be on point. Thoughts?

  2. The Illusionist's Apprentice looks good.

I read the books, but never watched the movie b/c the previews didn't grab me. Neat that they are giving A Series of Unfortunate Events another go.

  3. I would give anything with Neil Patrick Harris a shot. I'm interested in that Changeling PI novel. Is that a new series?

  4. I didn't read the books either... and I think I saw the movie... maybe not? I don't know. The story never really interested me but I agree that the Netflix trailer looks good. Hopefully they've done a good job on it.

  8. Just saw that trailer, actually! I'm not a fan of Lemony but I wouldn't mind seeing NPH's interpretation of his character. :D

  15. I never read A Series of Unfortunate Events or saw the previous movie adaptation, but Neil Patrick Harris is awesome, so it should be a good show. The TV series reboot reminds me of The Mortal Instruments getting turned into a TV show after the movie version didn't do so hot.

  17. I'm counting the days to the tv series A Series of Unfortunate Events hoping this is a new show I can watch with my girls and husband. I actually like the books and original movie but I'm sure Harris is going to bring some awesomeness to Netflix. Enjoy your books :)
