Bought, Borrowed & Bagged [217] + A Brief Movie Review

BB&B (Bought, Borrowed and Bagged) is a weekly meme, inspired my The Story Siren and Pop Culture Junkie, where we share with you the books that we have bought, borrowed or bagged (won or gifted) plus a recap of the previous week's reviews, upcoming reviews, on going events and book movie or television news.

BB&B is an homage Barron's Books & Baubles from Karen Marie Moning's smash hit series, Fever.

I didn't realize my BB&B last weekend didn't post! Sorry!

Big & Small
Last week I saw When The Bough Breaks, a psychological thriller starris Morris Chestnut, Regina Hall, and Jaz Sinclair. The short of it is Morris and Regina hired Jaz to be their surrogate but girl went crazy which ended in a lot of outrageous shenanigans.

I don't mind watching B movies, it's my book equivalent to 3-star reads. Sometimes it's nice to just watch and be entertained and not to really get involved in the plot. Unfortunately the movie SUCKED big time! I was hoping it'll be something like Obsessed (2009: Beyonce, Idris Elba, Ali Larter) where there's this amazing build up and epic bitch fight.

Yeah, none of that happened and that's 2 hours of my life down the drain. If you want to catch this movie, skip the theaters and just Netflix it or wait for it to hit cable/free TV.

  6. It's irritating when you are hoping a movie is good but turns out to be bad.

  8. I don't think I've ever watched a B movie at the theater or drive-in, but I have watched several I loved as rentals (several I didn't love, too). :)

  11. I remember seeign something about that movie. Didnt' have something to do with a surrogate going psychotic? I think they didn't even review it for critics, that means it sucks. Too bad you wasted yoru time. Hope your next movie pick will be better.

  12. I don't go the movies a lot, most of my watching is on TV. I LOVE B movies, but I have not seen this one. Better luck next time. :-)

  13. I've seen previews of that movie but I wasn't all that curious. It reminds me of The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, tbh. Oh! And I've never seen Obsessed! How the heck did I miss that?

  16. Sorry that movie didn't work out for you. I don't watch a lot of movies, so I don't venture away from ones I know will win for me. Most of the movies I've watched in the past year or more have been superhero movies. I'm drawn to them like moths to a flame.

  17. I love Morris Chestnut, but I was on the fence about watching that movie, and yes, I will pass! (lol) Hugs...

  18. I am so picky with my movies these days. I seem to prefer series in general just because I need to see a good story line instead of senseless action. Sorry about another bad movie, what a waste! :(

  19. I'm sorry the movie sucked. I don't mind watching "B" movies either but I expect to at least be entertained. Hopefully your new books will be better. *smooches*
