Bought, Borrowed & Bagged [211]: Superheroes & American Gods

BB&B (Bought, Borrowed and Bagged) is a weekly meme, inspired my The Story Siren and Pop Culture Junkie, where we share with you the books that we have bought, borrowed or bagged (won or gifted) plus a recap of the previous week's reviews, upcoming reviews, on going events and book movie or television news.

BB&B is an homage Barron's Books & Baubles from Karen Marie Moning's smash hit series, Fever.

Bought, Borrowed, & Bagged

Obviously I'm taking dating seriously. I stumbled upon Matthew Hussey's YouTube videos and not only is he cute with a gorgeous accent, his POV makes sense. So I thought I'd give his book a try. Thankfully my local library has an audio version and I'm currently listening to it. I'm only a few chapters in and I'm loving it because it's not just about relationships, he has transformative tips on how to come out of one's shell and be more sociable, etc. Review will come soon!

Big & Small
I don't usually follow ComicCon, but this week the event released a LOT of exciting movie trailers from Wonder Woman, Doctor Strange, and Justice League, to name a few. We're flooded with superhero series that will soon hit the theaters, the boob tube, and my favorite place to be, Netflix. Come Halloween, I'm sure the streets will be littered by heroes and villains alike so if you want to stand-out this year or win that Best Costume trophy, maybe don't be a DC or Marvel character?

And perhaps what I'm super curious about is AMERICAN GODS, a new series coming to Starz  in 2017 based on Neil Gaiman's bestselling novel. It's certainly not on-trend, but going against the grain can be good. Have you read the novel? What did you think of it?

  1. I have not read American Gods. Sometimes going against the grain is a good thing. I see that you got two interesting books. I hope you love all of your new books this week.

  11. I still need to check out all these trailers from Comic Con. I haven't read American Gods but I really do want too, and I'm so curious about the show because I think Ricky Whittle is fantastic. I don't have the channel though, so who knows when I'll see it? haha
