Bought, Borrowed & Bagged [197]: The Catch, Outlander, The Jungle Book

BB&B (Bought, Borrowed and Bagged) is a weekly meme, inspired my The Story Siren and Pop Culture Junkie, where we share with you the books that we have bought, borrowed or bagged (won or gifted) plus a recap of the previous week's reviews, upcoming reviews, on going events and book movie or television news.

BB&B is an homage Barron's Books & Baubles from Karen Marie Moning's smash hit series, Fever.

Bought, Borrowed, & Bagged

Big & Small

I'm catching up on a few shows starting with Penny Dreadful S2 (Showtime), already caught up with Outlander S1 (Stars), and staying current with The Catch S1 (ABC). Shonda Rhimes and her team are geniuses! Another addictive series that I will certainly be following. SRhimes now owns my "Thursday Nights".

I'm bummed that Kings & Prophets (NBC)  canceled. Is it because people are really disinterested with biblical stories (weird because Mark Burnett's The Bible did so well) or is it the setting and cast?

I don't have anything pending on Netflix unless they drop the entire season of The Good Wife. I also saw The Jungle Book with the family last night: FUCKING FANTASTIC!! It's a great family movie, so moving, I'm not ready to be a vegetarian/vegan yet, but I agree that hunting animals for sport should be banned.

Recap

Bought, Borrowed & Bagged is a laid-back meme, please use your LABEL OR TAG LINKS and not your post links that way you don't have to update your linky every week.

  3. I decided to wait to watch Season 2 of Outlander until all of it is available. I didn't know there was going to be a split season last year and wasn't very happy about it, lol. And it's like 1 week until GoT!!!!

    1. It was okay for me, I liked that it was bloody and the cast is very diverse. I'm tired of looking at the same faces :|

  8. Everyone keeps saying The Jungle Book was great. I'm not a vegetarian, but I do agree that I don't like hunting for sport. I live in an area where people love to hunt, but I just don't like it unless you're going to eat what you kill.

Ooh lots of fun books! I really want to read The Invisible Library.

    1. It saddens me because ever species plays a bigger part to keep our home balanced and working properly. Also, let's turn it around, would you want to be hunted for your skin? Your teeth? Your scalp? That's messed up!

  14. My Netflix endeavour, much like reading book series, have been failing as of late. I can't seem to get caught up. I get bored easily. I'm still on 3rd season of Scandal. 1st season of Gilmore Girls, 3rd season of Heroes. Sigh.

    Happy reading!

    1. I'm the opposite with reading lately. I'll pick a show, binge, eat my weight in junk food, scratch my belly and call it a day.

  15. I want to see The Jungle Book. I loved the animated version and still have it on VHS (I won't give up my Disney VHS tapes). I'm really excited for The Bourbon Thief. I love Tiffany Reisz. I hope you enjoy all of your books and upcoming TV shows.

  19. Did The Jungle Book scare the kiddies? I'm afraid my sensitive 9 year old might be upset b/c it's realistic. I might have to wait on video for that one :(
