Bought, Borrowed & Bagged [195]: Happy Easter!

BB&B (Bought, Borrowed and Bagged) is a weekly meme, inspired my The Story Siren and Pop Culture Junkie, where we share with you the books that we have bought, borrowed or bagged (won or gifted) plus a recap of the previous week's reviews, upcoming reviews, on going events and book movie or television news.

BB&B is an homage Barron's Books & Baubles from Karen Marie Moning's smash hit series, Fever.

Big & Small
I'm dedicating my Easter to World Peace. Not trying to pull a Miss Congeniality here, but the world is in such a disarray I feel like Pandora's Box has been opened and Hope is the only thing left. Brussels is another dot on the map that's been devastated by yet another terror attack. All the solidarity posts on social media got me irate because it takes a tragedy of this magnitude for everyone to stand together?! Are we that desensitized as a society already?!

I'm not generalizing things, I know there's a big shade of gray in the midst of this mess, yet my heart breaks for all the innocents caught in the crossfire. The good ones who nobody would take because they've been grouped with the bad guys so they're forced to live in a Hell hole with no way out, waiting for someone to save them or be released from it all through death. So whoever You are, help us fix this mess once and for all.

  3. Happy Easter Braine.

It sure does feel like the world is going to hell in a hand basket as my mother used to say.

  6. Happy Easter to you too. I hope you enjoy your book and audiobooks. I agree that there is a lot of terrible things going on in the world right now. I'm trying to keep my chin up as best as I can. I'm also very frustrated that people are not standing together, which is exactly what the terrorist want.

  10. I agree with you so much. It seems as if people only want to do something when there is a tragedy. Sadly, in a few months everyone will have forgotten and moved on but those living in the horror.

Ink and Bone was amazing, so I hope you enjoy it.

  15. Interesting...we were talking at dinner yesterday about all the issues going on in the world and I asked "Why can't we all just get along?!?" So I love that you dedicated your Easter to World Peace, Braine! Hear, hear!! I hope your Easter was wonderful, my friend.

I'm jealous about Poison Study and Ink and Bone! ;) I hope you enjoy *ALL* your new goodies!

  16. I hear ya, B. We're so closed to being desensitized due to the regular occurrence of these terrorist attacks. It's sickening, terrifying and heartbreaking. ;(

  17. I'm very happy you caved and got Poison Study, Braine!
And I agree, it's awful that social media jumps on the bandwagon to show their support - and when doing that, mostly when terror happens in the occidental part of the world. I feel even worse for the Syrian refugees who are trying to get into Europe now, because fear-mongers are lumping them together with the terrorists, saying we need to keep them 'out of our countries to keep our women and girls safe'. All I can do is go o.O
I hope you're having a good week so far!
