One week. No future. No past. No more.
Alexandria Collins has one week to live carefree—no ghosts of her past or pressures of her future haunting her. Reinventing herself as "Charli," she is knocked off her feet by a sexy, mysterious man who brings her pleasure like she never imagined. With her heart at stake, she forgets that decisions made in the dark of night reappear in the bright light of day.

"Some of my tastes are unique. They aren’t for everyone. I understand that.”

Lennox "Nox" Demetri is wealthy, confident, and decisive—he knows what he wants. From the first time he sees Charli at an exclusive resort, he knows he wants her. Although he is usually the one to make the rules, together they agree on one:

One week. No more.

When betrayal comes from those closest to Alexandria, she must decide how far she is willing to go to survive. Choices are not always easy, especially when they involve the heart, body, and soul. After all, Infidelity is a business, and some rules are meant to be broken.

"Is it really cheating if you're doing it to yourself?"

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a sexy, new dominant hero who knows what he wants, and a strong-willed heroine who has plans of her own. With classic Aleatha Romig twists, turns, deceptions, and devotions, this new epic dark romance will have readers swooning one minute and screaming the next. Have you been Aleatha'd?

And I've been Aleatha'd. Again.

Although I was expecting that when I started BETRAYAL. I even told ARomig that she's a dominatrix for sure, and we her readers are her subs. She laughed it off, but I think I'm onto something with that.

BETRAYAL is another compelling novel. It's not as dark as her previous books, but it's just as affecting and gripping. If you're a fan and haven't read BETRAYAL yet, know that nobody got kidnapped and Alex nor Nox are prisoners. The novel actually started fun. Although you can tell that it's not all perfect for Alexandria, that she's maybe running away from or trying to forget something, so her little week of "rebellion" was okay if not expected.

Then Nox happened and it just got curioser and curioser. Who is this mystery man who swept Alex off her feet? What's with the hard limits, the story about the ex-wife, his riches? I wondered, but I have to admit the dude won me over almost immediately. He's enigmatic, charming, and totally plowed through my skepticism and had me thinking, Wow! ARomig is probably going to give us a normal, feel good, contemporary romance.

Wrong!

Sort of. First off, Alexdria's mom and stepdad totally pissed me off. She's one of those "poor little rich girl" minus the hyperbolic lamentations about how horrible her pampered life is. To be fair, her family life sucks balls! So there was that, I'm already riled up and frustrated because though Alex is no victim, her parents' push backs are more forceful than hers.

Now I can't say more becuase I don't want to give out spoilers. Just a little note to those who are curious about the series name, Infidelity. This is not one of those novels where they justify cheating or glorify adultery, or something like that. There's this hard twist towards the end that explains Infidelity and it's not something I expected. I love it though, I don't know what's going to happen to Alex now, but I sure am curious where ARomig is taking us. Even if that means gut wrenching situations, anger-inducing conversations, hate-filled rants. I'm all for it and I can't wait to be Aleatha'd again.

  3. I started reading her other series Consequences, but never got around to finishing it. Maybe I'll pick it back up soon. This one looks like a great start to a new series. Adding it to my TBR!

    1. I love how she always manages to twist a story. Like you think you know what's going on, but that's the biggest mistake you'll ever make when reading her books.

    1. Not like that at all. I have to admit, I was nervous too but more for you guys than for me. I can read a cheating book, but I don't want any of you to discount this right away because of it.

  12. Why haven't I tried her books yet? Maybe I can start with this one just so I can experience what it feels like to be Aleatha'd! I want to read the other series too someday. :)

  13. Ooh, as always your review is awesome, but I don't know about this one, Braine. The cover is nice, but when I see the word Infidelity, I'm running in the other direction, even if there may be a different spin on it. I'm not sure this one would make it to my pile. Hugs...
