In the second Magnolia Beach romance by USA Today bestselling author Kimberly Lang, a small Alabama waterfront town is the perfect place to start over...

At first sight, Molly Richards knew Magnolia Beach, Alabama, was the perfect place to escape her unhappy life. And though she's proud of the small coffee shop she’s opened, something is missing. But she won’t let herself be burned by love—again.

Veterinarian Tate Harris finds the local dating scene awkward, since he's known most of the eligible ladies his whole life. But he's finding it hard to resist the unassuming charm of the sweet-faced owner of Latte Dah. And when a late-night pet emergency finds Tate at Molly's house, that fascination turns into a potent mutual attraction.

But just as their relationship begins to take off, Molly's haunted past returns. Fortunately, Tate is determined to help Molly fight for the life she's been wishing for

Ah, EVERYTHING AT LAST was a delightful, feel good love story. I enjoyed my brief trip back to Magnolia Beach and here's some of the things you should know about Kimberly Lang's upcoming novel.

  • Tate and Molly's story is not as romantically tense and charged as the previous book, Something To Prove. That said, it's hard to top the return of Hell on Wheels aka Helena (Book 1 MC), Tate's BFF and Molly's new found girl buddy. Tate and Molly's book is somber, uneventful overall, but earnest and got intense real quick. EVERYTHING AT LAST is more sweet, less swoony.

  • EVERYTHING AT LAST has tried and tested themes like friends-to-lovers and second-chances. Helena played matchmaker to Tate and Molly. It was awkward at first because the two weren't keen on getting together. The connection wasn't instant either, but when they realized that the is something going on, boy these two were on it like Donkey Kong!

  • I loved the second-chance at love feel. It's not a reconciliation, Tate had a thing for Helena, didn't work out. Meanwhile Molly was previously married to a jerk. These two deserve happiness and I especially love how they were friendly first before jumping into a relationship. They took their time, especially Molly, exercised caution until they built something that's solid and lasting.

  • I love small town romances! It can be annoying how everybody knows everyone's business. But loyalty counts for a lot especially on moments where its needed. Molly has been a Magnolia Beach resident for only a few years, yet when the situation called for it, the townspeople rallied for her! It's so touching considering Molly wasn't expecting such a response from everyone.

KLang's Magnolia Beach is always a great book getaway for me. I love the feel of this town Klang created, all the characters come alive and I feel like they're my neighbors and I'm the fly on the wall to their ongoing dramas and stories. The romance is always feel good no matter the hurdles the couples have to go through to stay together. Overall Magnolia Beach books are heartwarming romances with minimal drama and realistic HEA. I couldn't ask for a better romantic getaway.

New Year's resolutions. Ah, they're tricky things, so tempting to make, soooo easy to break. I love the idea of New Year's resolutions -- the clean slate, the possibility of a new me in the new year -- but I can honestly say that in the forty-something years I've been on this planet, I've yet to keep one. I have zero willpower, a real love of instant gratification, and a limited attention span.

But even knowing that, I still can't help myself. I look at all the things I don't like about myself and vow that this year, I will change those things.

I think that's why I always fail at my resolutions. That's so negative. Here's this beautiful blank slate, a whole year of possibilities ahead of me, and I'm dwelling in the negative already, hating myself and thinking of all I'll have to give up or take on. It makes me grumpy and tired just thinking about it.

No wonder I fail.

So I'm taking a new approach for 2016: I'm listing things I like and want to do and giving those things extra attention, increasing their importance and nurturing them. I'm reframing my resolutions for this year and setting my goals a little differently. So in 2016, I will...

  • Spend more time with my family. I like my husband. I like my kid. They're really cool people and we have a great time together. I'm going to spend more time with them, talking, playing games, cooking dinner together, and just hanging out. It'll be fun.

  • Take better care of me. My neck and back are problematic, so aches and pains plague me and I don't sleep as well as I'd like. I feel so much better though, after I've been to yoga, so I'm going to make more time for that. I also love my ballroom dancing class, so I'm going to make that a priority in 2016 and get there each week.

  • Lower my stress levels and simplify things. I'm tired of fighting my way through a closet filled with stuff I never wear or feeling like my hair is on fire as I rush around trying to do a thousand things all at once. It's stress I just don't need. I'm going to make things easier on myself this year.

Hmm. Looking at that list, I'm probably going to be watching less TV and spending less time on the computer. I'm also going to be getting more exercise. I'll probably end up cleaning out closets and attics and decluttering the house and organizing my time a little better. But I've set some awesome-sounding goals for 2016, and they're things I really want to do -- even if there's some not-fun stuff I'll have to do to accomplish them. It's a trade off, but I think I can do it.

I might actually have a chance of keeping these resolutions.

Whatever your resolutions are, good luck! I hope you have a fabulous 2016!

  1. Nice review! I like small town books sometimes.

And great guest post! I tend to start each new year with all the basic things "eat better, exercise more" but as of last year, I've tried refocusing a bit more and finding ways to do all that but also try new things and find what I love, like dancing.

  2. We have the same resolutions for #2 and #3! I've gotten pretty sickly the past few years and I know they're related to my stress, so I need to manage it better.

Sounds like Everything At Last is so sweet. I love romances like these in small doses. I'm more of a regency girl, myself, but once in a while I do like to resurface in the contemporary fictional world.

    Happy New Year, Braine! :)

  3. Cute cover :D

    Good resolutions too there

  4. My resolutions mirror yours. It's very important for me to be stress free and healthy. This book looks like a sweet romance.

  5. Like the cover and the sound of the small town romance

  6. I read book one and Helena didn't take with me, but I loved everything else about the story. I remember liking the hint of Molly and Tate as a couple. I'll have to go back and pick this one up b/c I love cozy small town romance, too.

And I like the author's new perspective on resolutions. It does help to have positive goals over negative ones.

  7. I love small towns in books. This sounds like a series I may enjoy when I want a lighter read.

I also want to streamline things a bit better in my life. Cut back on computer time, clean out things in the house, get out more for exercise, etc. In the fall we started spending weekends in nature but then it got cold/rainy and we stopped. I'm looking forward to that again, it was really good for my family.

  8. I don't often read books like this but I do enjoy small town romances. Those are great resolutions. I usually promise to not promise to make any resolutions. That one I can keep. LOL

  9. I haven't make a resolution in years.

  10. Oh I need a feel good romance right now! Thanks!

  11. I enjoy reading books like this from time to time just for the fun of it. Ain't nothin' wrong with tried and tested. :D

  12. Fab review, lady! I love small-town romances AND second chance at love romances...I like that this one includes a couple whose second chance comes after other relationships (with other people) don't work out. I'll definitely give this series a looksie. ;)

Happy New Year!! And I'll get my responses to you about Devlin tomorrow! :D *mwah*
