Steampunk Sundays: Tea Time + Clockwork Heart [Short Films]

Today's Steampunk Sunday is going to be different. I've been featuring books most every week, but the truth of the matter is, Steampunk is more than a fiction genre. It's music, fashion, home decor, and movies! Here are a few short films for your enjoyment.

TEA TIME is a cute short if only they just got rid of the accents! Why can't she be English who grew up in America, and is now back in England to pursue her dreams as an inventor?

I find THE CLOCKWORK HEART because it's darkly romantic. A very depressed inventor widower who recreated his departed wife and turned her into some sort of an automaton? I'd read the novel if there's one! I also love the silhouette animation to relay the backstory.

And now if you'll excuse me, I'm soaking up the last rays of Summer.

  1. That's what I should've done today (soak up some rays). Instead, I've developed some bed sores from reading the whole day. Lol.

    1. I will be featuring that next. Still looking for something that's straddling steampunk and this century's music, if that makes sense. Something to help us transition.

  10. I don't think I ever watched a steampunk movie so far, but I really like the feel of the genre with all the brass coloured contraptions and the steam powered engines. So maybe I'll have to check out a steampunk movie next. I am currently reading Immersed after seeing you and Lexie their reviews of it I couldn't resist requesting it when I saw it on netgalley, so far it's really good!

  12. Hmm... I've avoided the Steampunk genre. That Tea Time short though, was darn cute! I'd read a novel of that type. I'll have to look into them.
