Yupp! I've been bitten by K-Pop/Drama. I've been resisting this trend for the longest time, but it seems there's no escaping it. I've been binge-watching Boys Over Flowers for days now. And I'm honestly not surprised as I also got addicted to it's Taiwanese version counterpart, Meteor Garden, more than a decade ago. Both series are based on some Japanese Manga and I guess the plot just works for me, doesn't matter if it's Korean or Japanese. *peace*

It's a new year and there's a new linky for my humble weekly recap meme. Whether you're a return participant or a new hopper, THANK YOU for joining, your participation is much appreciated.
Also as this is a laid-back meme, please use your LABEL OR TAG LINKS and not your post links that way you don't have to update your linky every week.

OOh nice! I haven't heard of those two books in particular. Though I do hope you thoroughly enjoy them!!
ReplyDeleteMy STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
I love Paulina S, have you heard of The Bronze Horseman? That's hers!
DeleteI had never heard of K-Pop so I saw something new.
ReplyDeleteReally? Well beware, you might get the bug one of thse days lol
DeleteI've never seen K-Pop either but I'm glad you found something new. ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the books!
Need breaks from reading and stuff, Netflix ran out of historical dramas so K-Drama it is!
DeleteI haven't heard of K-Pop before. I see that we both got the Jenn Stark book. Hope you love all your new books.
ReplyDeleteGrace @ Books of Love
I think it's more K-Drama hahaha, gotta edit that shit! Amateur!
DeleteWhoa. What is Lone Star? Tell me what you think! Loving Paullina Simons lately, so yeah. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's in Edelweiss! Gah, you must get it!
DeleteHey B! See if you can find the Prequel to Jenn Starks Book. I got it free last week. Forgot to add it to my haul post! OOPS!
ReplyDeleteI got it for free too! I saw it when I was putting this post together. Thanks, Shelley!
DeleteI am not familiar with K-Pop stuff at all, Braine, which is probably a very good thing. I need to stay far away from stuff like that which is definitely addictive. I'm glad you're enjoying it, though.
ReplyDeleteYour new books look great, I hope you'll enjoy them :)
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Oh it is. It's kinda cheesy at first, but I'm loving the culture and how weirdly funny some of the antics are.
DeleteNever heard of K Pop, but I think it's always fun to find something new to binge on. LOL Enjoy and happy reading.
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental Sherry's Shelves
Yup, always great to discover things especially when it works out.
DeleteI must be showing my age, because I've never heard of K Pop! (lol) Glad you found something that you really enjoy though. A great way to relax. Looks like you picked up a few goodies and looking forward to your reviews. hugs...Ro
ReplyDeleteThis is what I get for always being in Netflix
DeleteLoL I've never watch Korean television. I have a really hard time with foreign language shows where I have to read the dialog. I end up missing what's going on on the screen. However, I love me some Enlish dubbed anime. ;) That's something that not a lot of people know about. It's not really a secret but it's not something that comes up in conversation unless the other person is also a fan.
ReplyDeleteI watch Anime once in a while too. My son loves it so I can't help but get curious sometimes. I'm a Naruto fan!
DeleteIt must be a trend, lol. There are quite a few Korean shows that are on over here, but I avoided them since they looked addictive :P I'm thinking of giving Black Sails a try though, I heard lots of good things... The new books look good, but then on your blog, few things don't :D
ReplyDeleteOoh yes Black Sails has an amazing cast too. Malkovich right?
DeleteI wish I could remember the K-Drama shows that I watched with my friend. They were fun though.
ReplyDeleteDo you watch K-pop videos? They are crazy but fun.
Karen @For What It's Worth
I do sometimes! These stars are triple threats, when I get attached to one, I can't help but look them up and it would alays lead me to their band or music videos lol
DeleteGetting Wilde sounds good, hope you enjoy and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brandi!
DeleteHappy reading :)
ReplyDeleteHey, you found something cool to watch. Neat! :D Hope you have a great week this week. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYou consider Behre's series sci fi? Interesting.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually confused. When I first read it I tagged it paranormal, then as the novels came out, the tags started getting jumbled and the blurbs were calling it sci-fi. In a way, the last 2.5 weren't paranormal, no supernatural, just full on psychic fun
DeleteI've not watch K-POP, but yes Boys Over Flowers is a Japanese Manga, which I have read. So a little fun fact which I have not shared to anyone. I LOVE Manga and own lots. I enjoy watching Anime too. ^_^
ReplyDeleteOooh good to know! Did you love the manga version? Isn't it funny?!?!
DeleteI'm catching up on all my comments after my holiday and wanted to pop by and say "hi". Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon!
DeleteDid someone say KPOP? Here you go 303 (mostly) KPOP songs in an almost alphabetical playlist for you. There are like 3 bands that are actually japanese but I don't listen to enough Jmusic to create a seperate playlist...
ReplyDeleteKPOP bands I really enjoy are Girls Day, Girls Generation, After School, AOA, and EXID.
Also you should watch Love Rain it has Yoona from Girls Generation in :)
DeleteOooh I gotta look up Love Rain, I hope Netflix has it. And thanks for the playlist!
DeleteYay I grabbed Getting Wilde as well :)
ReplyDeleteHard not to
DeleteYes, that's on my list of things to try too, Braine :))) Enjoy all!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kara!
DeleteI haven't heard of either of your new books, but I hope they'll dazzle you, Braine! I haven't heard of the tv shows you mentioned either - but I bet that's not a surprise. ;) Glad you've found something new and addicting. *ha*
ReplyDeleteI need a lot of dazzling because reading slump :/
DeleteGetting Wilde looks really good. There are just too many books out there I NEEED. lol
ReplyDeleteI feel you. I can't help but hoard!
DeleteI like the cover to Getting Wilde! Enjoy Braine!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds fun, I read the prequel, I love the heroine!
DeleteI haven't watched any K-drama's yet. My co-worker keeps pushing me too, lols. One of these days I'll try it.
