In a world on the brink...
Six men. One sunken Spanish galleon. Millions in gold and silver coins lying on the ocean floor. And a past that refuses to let the guys of Deep Six Salvage forget the Navy SEAL motto: the only easy day was yesterday...
There's more than one kind of treasure...
The nation's security has always been CIA agent Olivia Mortier's top priority. But a mission-gone-wrong has begun to make her wonder if there's more to life than risking hers.
And more than one secret at the bottom of the sea...
Only two things could make Leo Anderson abandon his hunt for the legendary lost ship, La Santa Christina, and return to the world of weapons and warfare he swore to leave behind: a capsule of enriched uranium, lost on the ocean floor, and a plea for assistance from the one woman he can't seem to forget
Hi guys! Mixing blogging with pleasure here. Still on vacation so I'm writing this in bed via my phone so I'll be brief.
HELL OR HIGH WATER is book 1 of Julie Ann Walker's new romantic suspense series, Deep Six. And it is HILARIOUS! And sexy, packed with all sorts of action, led by an amazing cast of former Navy SEALS. I swooned, drooled, and fell instantly in love with Leo and his band of misfits.
I've met this crew briefly in Way of the Warrior anthology a while back and knew that the Deep Six guys will be giving JAWalker's Black Knights Inc. boys a run for their money. JAWalker's humor on this one is spot-on, the jokes are LOL-funny, and the cammaraderie between Leo and his team is very endearing. These former SEALS are now in Florida searching for a lost treasure. So there's a series arc in the works here that's very appealing to me.
Anyway, in HELL OR HIGH WATER, the team is recruited by Olivia Mortier, CIA agent and Leo's girl, to retrieve some weapons from some ISIS terrorists. The mission read like a movie! It helped that I'm currently in Florida so I could easily imagine this novel happening as if it's right in front of me. The romance is fantastic too. It wasn't corny and no token sex scenes just for the sake of having one. Everything about HELL OR HIGH WATER flowed perfectly for me.
And with a colorful cast of characters, there's no dump of intros as well. Each Deep Six member is distinct and memorable. I am looking forward to the next story, (hopefully) Bran's. This dude made me laugh the most and it seems he's met his match in Maddy, a Texas oil heiress whom they've saved from being hostaged by the terrorists.
The prize is Julie Ann Walker's romantic suspense bundle. Good luck!
