USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy returns to the tantalizing world of Club Sin in an enticing novel of control and surrender.
Porter Marshall has nearly achieved his goal of becoming a Club Sin Master, but his new sub poses a much bigger challenge than he anticipated. Despite their mutual attraction and red-hot dungeon sessions, Kenzie Hart plays her own games. Her bratty, you-can’t-break-me attitude masks terrible personal hurt—pain that only the exquisite touch of a skilled Dom can release. But when Porter suggests taking their connection to the outside world, Kenzie denies him . . . which only makes him want her more.
Kenzie can’t ignore the raw, fierce bond she has with Porter. But she can’t give in to his dangerous demands, either. Is the passion they share real, or is he using her to solidify his status at Club Sin? And yet, who else can she trust with the shattering secrets she holds within? As Porter expertly brings her to the point of no return, Kenzie surrenders her body—and, piece by piece, her heart.
Tamed is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.
Once again, Stacey Kennedy delivered an emotionally and sexy novel. TAMED is the latest addition to her highly addictive and swoony BDSM erotica series, Club Sin. This time it's the stubborn but sexy librarian submissive, Kenzie, and hot and beefy po-po Dom, Porter, Cora's (Bared) ex. As you've probably noticed, the characters are somewhat connected and that's something I love about this series. Though the books can stand strong on its own, the whole series follows one timeline giving it a sense of continuity. It's like each installment is still relating what's happening in Club Sin and the cast are taking turns narrating it.
Porter isn't exactly my type, big and beefy, but it's impossible not to like/love the guy because he's like this giant (and rich) teddy bear! Strong, gentle, protective, and fierce. Kenzie might be stubborn, but Porter is made of stronger stuff, finally bringing the precocious and notorious sub to her knees, pun intended! Now I might have forgotten some details, I'm not sure if Porter's backstory has been shared in Bared when we first met him. I say this because I didn't really get a lot of dirt on Porter in this book. I don't know if his taste for dominance and BDSM is coming from a place of damage and hurt or if he's one of those people who just likes it rough for the purpose of recreation. I might have to skim Bared again for that, but if you've read it, please save me some time and feel free to jog my memory!
TAMED is completely Kenzie's story. Finally we understand why this chick is so! I love that SKennedy didn't go for the extreme and made Kenzie's backstory totally tragic. It's sad, yes, but it's not one of those Law & Order:SVU episodes, if you know what I mean. Kenzie has abandonment issues because her family died in close succession. And now that she's going through a rough spot, all of these painful memories have resurfaced, making her feel alone, helpless, causing her to act out in the club and distant, cold, and distracted outside. Much to Porter's delight because one can't be a disobedient sub. He's a Dom after all and she likes getting "punished" so I guess it works?
Naturally things were sorted out between them. It was an emotional ride for these two, but not overly done. For a kinky novel, these two still appears to be normal, and I underline that word because this sense of normalcy is what makes Club Sin stand-out. I'm tired of bored rich people and all their damaged goods. I'd like to believe that kink isn't exclusive to their type and average people, like me, can partake in the fantasy out of enjoyment. SKennedy gives me that sense... except for the middle class part, the men are moneyed. Yet it doesn't hurt to step into their subs shoes and play the part of a kept girl. Oh, to be free of financial stress if only for a couple of hours!
Anyways, if you're looking for a different kind of erotica that has MORE story, LOTS of heart, and TONS of sex, Club Sin just might do the trick for you.

STACEY KENNEDY is the USA Today bestselling author of the CLUB SIN series. Growing up, Stacey’s mind wandered the path less traveled and that path most often led to love. She has always broken rules and she continues to feed off emotion – staying true to her heart. Those traits are now the bones of her stories. She lives in southwestern Ontario with her husband, who puts any of the heroes in her books to shame, and their two young children. If she’s not on mom duty or plugging away at a new story, you’ll find Stacey camping in the summer, hibernating in the winter and obsessing over Penny Dreadful, Game of Thrones and Sons of Anarchy.

DeleteThis is an author I have had on my radar for awhile, and I think I read a paranormal book by her a couple of years ago. I wonder if she is going to continue with that series.
ReplyDeleteAre you talking about the one with the witch? The sequel is already in NG... I don't think you'll like this though as you don't read erotica?
DeleteInteresting, even though erotica is just not my cup of tea. But I can certainly appreciate quality wherever it may appear, and this book seems to have it. Another lovely review, Braine :)
ReplyDeleteShe has another series, a PNR one. That might be your cupe of tea
DeleteI want her top, that's all
ReplyDeleteHahaha!
DeleteMakes me think of the Loving on the Edge series by Roni Loren, which I love. I want to read these, but mostly this one. I just love a defiant girl. lol.
ReplyDeleteI got a Roni Loren book somewhere, I'll have to dig it up and check them out.
DeleteI feel like I'm saying this about all the book reviews on here lately, but I promise I'll read this series one day!! :D
ReplyDeleteHave you finished Christina Lauren yet?
DeleteI know I'll read these b/c I like her other books and I like what you're saying about this series in your reviews. I like that there is a story behind it all and a sense of normalcy.
ReplyDeleteShe makes kink... kinky. Like something fun and not this exclusive damaged thing

ReplyDeleteMakes one wonder how much time they spend at the gym and how many protein shakes can the consume in one sitting.
DeleteThis sounds like a good read Braine. I'm not a big fan of big guys, but it seems you were won over by Cade. I do like how the stories are good as standalones!

ReplyDeleteHer next PNR is on NG. Did you grab it?
DeleteThose three book covers make me want to fan myself! I'm not a fan so much of BDSM stories, but I do love seeing covers like these hehehe!
ReplyDeleteThat's all right. In case you want to try a naughty one, make sure you take this series into consideration.
DeleteLove this series, I need to play catch up. And thank good gravy for normal folk in BDSM stories. ;)
ReplyDeleteRight? I don't have to be a virgin or a super rich person or even irrevocably damaged to be kinky.
DeleteI think I am the sub ;) They do have more fun anyway ;)
ReplyDeleteLol... I think I'm more of a Domme.
DeleteI have no idea why I haven't read any of the books in this series, Braine, I really think I'd enjoy it :) Great review!

I think you might like this series, Loupe. You enjoy TReisz, so you can do the hardcore stuff, like LRJones which is very emotional.
DeleteThis is a series I've had my eye on, Braine. The last sentence in your review has me itching to one-click. ;) You know I love a good story with the good sex! *haha*
