BLURB:
From Kyra Davis, New York Times bestselling author of Just One Night, comes Book Two in the Pure Sin series that Sinfully Sexy is calling “angsty, intriguing, and off the charts sexy.” The beautiful, angry Bell has revenge in her heart and Lander Gable in her sights. She’s seduced her way into his arms with the intent to destroy his wealthy family. But now that she’s there, lust and passion have begun squeezing out that desire for vengeance. It’s a dangerous game Bell is playing, and sex, mystery, and lies are the most intriguing game pieces of all.
QUOTABLE QUOTES:
In case you haven't noticed, I don't fight to live, I fight to win. - Bell
You can't work for the devil without expecting to catch a little hell - Lorella
Heartache will age you faster than time ever can. - Jessica
There has never been a woman who has loved a Gable man who hasn't lived to regret it. Even when we don't mean to, we always end up crashing whatever heart has been handed to us. - Lander
An epic follow up to Deceptive Innocence, DANGEROUS ALLIANCE perfectly concluded Bell's quest for revenge against the Gable family. No thread was left untied and finally, hopefully, Bell can lay her warrior side to rest.
Bell's character has grown leaps and bounds in DANGEROUS ALLIANCE. What once was a girl clothed in bitterness, wrath, and vengeance has now softened and learned to trust, albeit grudgingly, a man who's part of the circle she wants to take down. I love Bell not because of her hard exterior but for her candor and vulnerability. Throughout the story we see her get afraid, indecisive, and falter in following through with her plans, it's her sheer determination that had her seeing what she set out to do decades before and that perseverance had me in awe.
Lander, this man had me nervous at one point. He was always a mystery to me, like Bell I'm kept guessing what kind of plot he's concocting in his head. Blood is thicker than water they say so until almost the end, I'm left questioning his motives. And I like Lander's ambiguous air, it's very realistic especially when its a David & Goliath story and the motivation revenge. Someone almost always doesn't play by the rules and usually its the person you thought you had on your side. Well Lander didn't disappoint me on that front but he sure had me biting my nails furiously.
Kyra Davis unraveled and twisted DANGEROUS ALLIANCE repeatedly until the lines between the good guys and the bad guys have been blurred. For a minute there I thought Bell is going to get screwed over yet again then her golden chariot came, hell froze over, and the Gables FINALLY got what's coming her way. If you're reading the series, you will NOT believe who lent Bell a helping hand.
KDavis' Pure Sin series is a total marvel. It's a story about sex, money, power, and combined how these three can be a weapon or a blessing, depends on how you look at it. The plot is very clever, it draws you in and really gets you invested in the story and engaged in the characters. Deceptive Innocence and DANGEROUS ALLIANCE are brilliant, satisfaction guaranteed!
Best gift you got for Christmas
We do Hanukkah but it's a toss up between the beautiful Helmut Lang sweater my husband got me and the Neil Gaiman books my son bought me. My boys know how to spoil me!

New Year's resolution
I don't think New Year's resolutions work so I choose a New Year's word. Last year it was progress, this year it's faith. Not just religious faith, but faith in myself and my work. Faith in the people around me who have earned my trust and who have my love. Faith in my own instincts and so on. If I don't have faith in what I'm doing, the people I work with or surrounded myself with then I'm living in conflict with my 2015 word and I'll need to either find that faith within myself or change the situation so my faith will be merited.
Last book read & how was it in one word
All The Light We Cannot See: Magnificent.
Will you be watching FSOG the movie?
My husband's in the Academy so hopefully we'll get a screener for a...um...intimate viewing (cough-cough).
Kyra is an internationally published author of the Sophie Katz mystery series, and So Much For My Happy Ending. Her first Erotic Fiction Trilogy will be released in January 2013.
Aside from that, She's a single mom; addicted to coffee and True Blood (the show, not the drink). She's happy with who she is yet she's always striving to be better; She has more bad hair days than good ones and loves a challenge but not fearless, she's….well…just Kyra.

I love that this wrapped up super nicely and you loved it! Great review!
ReplyDeleteFun guest post too, I think we should all get private viewings of movies. ;)
If only I have my own private theater I'd invite all of you!
DeleteI love clever plots, and vengeful characters *cackles*. And Erotica to boot?! Hell yes.
ReplyDeleteOh you love erotica?? I finally found a common ground with you then :D
Deleterevenge is always good even if you just have to dream about it
ReplyDeleteIt's best left in dreams IMO, I don't want to go to prison LOL
DeleteWow! Nice to see that five star rating. Makes me sit up and take notice. I also like the idea of a word for the year instead of resolutions.
ReplyDeleteBoth books got 5 stars from me... although I know you dislike super sexy reads :(
DeleteI like blurred lines..ok that made me think of that stupid song. But anyway, i like not knowing
ReplyDeleteI know you want it... uh uh uh... Blurred Lines!!
DeleteOh I like that. New Year Word. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteYay!
Delete*fail~flail* It's out already?? Ohhh, I need to read this baby! It sounds about as good as I thought it might be. Read Deceptive Innocence, and despite feeling very ball-busted about the cliffy and waiting for this novel thing, I am so reading this!
ReplyDeleteYes you do especially since you were blurbed!!
DeleteFiguratively, sometimes a fan but literally not really :) This sounds like a fun book though!
ReplyDeleteBetter it stays figurative, it gets tricky when applied in real life. Live it vicariously thru books instead :)
DeleteOkay, I know I need to read book one first, but I want this too haha :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck, I hope your name gets drawn :)
DeleteGreat in theory but hard to actually do. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteVery true, so many moving parts plus there's that small thing we call the law. Let's just read/watch it, safer that way.
DeleteGlad it wrapped up nicely but now I want to know who lent Bell a hand..darn you :)
ReplyDeleteHave you read the first one? I know you liked The Affair, so try this sexy on for size!
DeleteYay, nice to hear it had a good wrap up
ReplyDeleteMe too, it had a great arch, I was afraid it will fold and disappoint. Glad it didn't disappoint.
DeleteAwesome review. I'm glad that you liked this book. I have to read book one which I got last week on my Kindle. Plus it always awesome to read something that you enjoy.
ReplyDeleteGrace @ Books of Love
It's so very clever, get to it soon!
DeleteLove the review. Revenge in fiction but not real life. :)
ReplyDeleteGood call, Karma's a bitch, I don't want to meet her LOL
Deletehmmm....mayhaps, I will have to try Ms. Douglas out
ReplyDeleteDavis! LMAO
DeleteLOL - Yeah, a private screening would be nice. I really like idea of a New Years word.
ReplyDeletehis book sounds good! I'm already liking Bell.
Oh Bell will leave you in awe
DeleteGreat review. This sounds like something I would enjoy, will have to add it to my tbr list.
ReplyDeleteFantastic, happy to hear that!
DeleteIt's nice to see that this sequel is really nice as well. I love the cover of this one and I confess that you really intrigued me with your review. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to influence you to read more sexy. I think you'll enjoy this because you lvoe mystery and suspense like I do.
DeleteThat's great that everything wrapped up well. It sounds like a pretty action packed series, which is definitely a draw for me.
ReplyDeleteI love the mystery and resolution, so cleverly written!
DeleteBraine, you got me interested in this series!
ReplyDeleteThat's the goal ;)
DeleteTaking revenge is a waste of time and damages you more than the person you want revenge on. Great review.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
DeleteI like reading about others seeking/taking revenge. Personally, I leave it to karma. :)
ReplyDeleteBRAINE!! I saw this at work today and it was all I could do to restrain myself. I want it!!! I got Deceptive Innocence because of you, you know. ;) I'm thrilled that things wrapped up so well. I can't wait to meet Bell!
Can you read at work? Like one or two chapters a day during break time? I so totally would! LOL
DeleteRevenge may give temporary satisfaction but hurts you more in the end. Sounds like a great book!!
ReplyDeleteSo true, it'll most definitely kill some part of you in the end.
DeleteI love a satisfactory ending. I love revenge stories too. This one sounds good.
ReplyDeleteOh you will LOVE this!
DeleteI'm not really into seeking revenge, but not opposed to reading a story with a bit of that in it :)
ReplyDeleteLet's live it vicariously thru others, safer that way
DeleteI like to take revenge, it may not always be the best thing to do but at least it makes me feel a little better! :)
ReplyDeleteI love these revenge kind of reads! And it is great to see that the second book was wrapped up well! Fab review Braine... And I am on the fence about going to watch FSoG at the cinema... will wait and see!
