Life is hard. Life leaves you beaten, broken…alone. Then one day, a stranger touches your hand and you feel something intense, unforgettable, but yet, you want to forget. You need to forget. It’s safer than believing in things you’ve decided don’t exist. You know all about shattered promises and lost hope. You know them so much better than you know this excited, warm, wonderful feeling, and it scares you. He scares you, but he also makes you feel alive again. He makes you realize you haven’t really been living. You’re surviving and you fear he’s the one who’ll make you forget how to keep doing it. But what if he’s the one who changes everything?
Trust Lisa Renee Jones to always embed some sort of intrigue to her story regardless if it's full length or a nooner like NEED YOU NOW. The trope of this 80-paged Naughty Nooner is an office romance although this office isn't your typical love story developed inside a cubicle.
One drunken night Danny found herself a sexy stranger who she ended up fooling around with only to discover that the handsome guy is the boss' nephew, Jensen. The following day, Danny's called to the office and was told that she's been handpicked to help Jensen sort out some corporate crisis. But the attraction between them is proving to be too distracting and powerful to ignore and eventually the lines between work and personal is blurred. Question is, can they keep things separate and can Danny stop Jensen's passion from devouring her?
NEED YOU NOW is another short, sexy, entertaining tale, and clever story by LRJones. And for the purpose of comparisons, it's more Inside Out than Amy Bensen (I think), in case you're wondering which is a good thing IMO as I'm not a big fan of the latter. Though I have yet to get invested in the characters I do love how LRJones laid out the premise of NEED YOU NOW. She'll tease and seduce you the same time Jensen is seducing Danny so there's this simultaneous thing going on that will make you pant and sweat for at least an hour. The rush of sexiness is swift and will have you begging for more.

Sounds like the perfect way to spend my lunch hour, Braine! ;) I want to finish the Inside Out Series first, but I will pick up this one for sure.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Although it might leave you hot and bothered LOL
DeleteOh this sounds good and a perfect was to try the author. I love the heat and tension
ReplyDeleteThis can be your gateway novel then ;)
DeleteSounds like for a short novella it works, and that you weren't disappointed. Novellas are so hit or miss for me.
ReplyDeleteMe too... I know you don't read erotica so I'm not sure you'll like this at all
DeleteThis sounds pretty good. I love the cover! Like Heidi, novellas are hit or miss for me.
ReplyDeleteI think it is for everyone. It's hard to plump it up if the plot is too ambitious IMO
Deletelol I like when I read these types of books, I'm always intrigued on how the characters will deal with it ;)
ReplyDeleteExactly! They will either surprise, disappoint, or impress us.
DeleteOh it's nice to have once again a good story like that. it's the first time I hear about this one but I love the cover!
ReplyDeleteI have a few more of this series/special, my attention span is for novellas only currently. And LRJones writes awesome erotic and romantic suspense.
DeleteOk I can't help it the naughty nooners title totally made me go hmmm where's the man at.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! That's good! Wait are you looking for mancandy photos?
DeleteNothing new but sounds hot none-the-less.
ReplyDeleteWe always need a little hotness, I need it at least once a week ;)
DeleteI've been tempted by a number of this series' paranormal titles, however that being said, I'm sure that you're probably sick of hearing this, but I don't like novellas. Office romances are one trope that I'll never get sick of though because it's how I met my husband.

Hey Miss B. Sorry I have been MIA. This author gig is a big learning curve and bloody hell it's busy behind the scenes. I MUST start the Inside Out series again from start and then see it through . I know you love it and I think I gave the first book 4.5 stars. So I want to know more but , I think I had better go back over the first one again. Awesome you liked this Naughty Nooner :) I am always sitting at my computer , just need to get out and about in cyberspace more. Once I get this whole learning curve more balanced I'll be popping about again. xxx
