New Adult - Fantasy
TUR

Inga Andersson is the envy of every girl in Asgard. On the surface she has it all -- great friends, a job as Odin’s personal fight choreographer, and a happy ever after with her realm’s hottest assassin. But when evil invades Asgard, her perfect world comes crashing down. Someone is planning to kill off the gods, and Inga’s best friend Ull is first on their list. With the Norse apocalypse a nanosecond away, Inga has to decide how she’ll spend her final moments of freedom. Because from the moment this battle begins, Inga’s happily ever after will be nothing more than a memory.

Some things are worth fighting for.

TUR is an Elsker Saga novella. It is approximately 10,000 words long.

ELSKER

You don't win the heart of an immortal assassin without making a few enemies along the way. Kristia Tostenson prefers Earl Grey to Grey Goose and book clubs to nightclubs, but when she transfers from her one-stoplight town to Cardiff University in Wales she falls in love with Ull Myhr. Her new boyfriend isn't exactly what she was expecting. He's an honest to goodness Norse God - an immortal assassin fated to die at Ragnarok, the battle destined to destroy Asgard and Earth. Kristia's crazy visions are the only thing that can save their realms. Her orderly life just got very messy.

I love Norse myth. There's only a few book series I've read where the myth is based on this Viking lore and quite a few of them are really good. Plus I'm sure you've met Thor aka God of Thunder and Chris Hemsworth playing the god sure made the myth relevant and attractive.

So when I stumbled upon ST Bende's series in Anya Breton's blog, I knew that ELSKER will be a great addition to the blogoversary party.

Happy Blogiversary TalkSupe!!

*yay! Thanks!*

I’m SO excited to be here to celebrate Braine’s blogiversary!! I’ve been a longtime reader of the blog, and it’s super fun to get to join the party. Skål, y’all!

I write the (sweet) New Adult Paranormal Romances of The Elsker Saga. The books follow Thor’s stepson Ull, a twenty-ish year old cutie pie (give or take a few centuries) who happens to be the Norse God of Winter. With Asgard on the brink of war, Ull’s besties drag him off for a little R&R at Cardiff University in Wales. There, the stoic Asgardian assassin falls head over heels for girl-next-door, Kristia Tostenson, a human who happens to have a few quirks of her own. Now it’s up to Ull, Kristia, and the collective Norse pantheon to stop the mythological apocalypse of Ragnarok . . . or die trying.

Playing with real-life gods within a fictional framework is awesome. The only things the myths tell us about Ull are that he’s the son of Sif, the stepson of Thor (yep, the Thor), and that once upon a time, he was worshipped as the God of Winter and Skiing. Think Bode Miller and Alexander Skarsgard wrapped up in one delicious package. Double yum. My re-imagined Ull has an affinity for #ChurchWaffles (a savory anytime treat, best served with jam), an aversion to board games, and a closet full of tight, cashmere sweaters… because when one imagines a Nordic deity, one simply cannot imagine him in baggy clothing. Ull is rarely without his BFF Gunnar, a crossbow-toting warrior, who lives to heckle his oftentimes-uptight counterpart. And due to a string of unfortunate experiences, Ull is fiercely protective of everyone he loves. Since I have it on good authority he really likes Braine, I volunteered him to play bodyguard for the Blogiversary party. Let the festivities begin!

*huh, so THAT was Ull! I kept on wondering who the blond dude was. Thanks, man!*

Let’s get today’s party started with a fun giveaway. We’ve got two e-book sets of Tur and Elsker up for grabs, and an autographed print copy of Elsker. How about a little God of Winter to heat up your summer?

Happy Blogiversary, friends!!

Coming July 17, 2014

Before finding domestic bliss in suburbia, ST Bende lived in Manhattan Beach (became overly fond of Peet’s Coffee) and Europe… where she became overly fond of the musical Cats. Her love of Scandinavian culture and a very patient Norwegian teacher inspired the ELSKER series. She hopes her characters make you smile and that one day pastries will be considered a health food.

    1. I understand Blodeueed. It's an emerging category, so there's a ton of marketing by authors right now. NA just refers to the age of the protagonists, though (18-25ish), and not an actual genre (contemp romance, Sci fi, etc). If you usually like paranormal reads and feel like checking it out, Kristie Cook's Promise is an AMAZING paranormal romance about NAA aged characters. And it's free. ;) if you end up reading it, let me know what you think. ;)
