Olivia thinks it’s her lucky night when a dangerously handsome unconscious fae ends up on her inspection table. He’s her chance to redeem herself with her employer, the demon-hunting organisation, Archangel. But when the tall, dark and deadly immortal warrior awakes, she gets much more than she bargained for…

Attacked by his enemy in the elf kingdom, the last thing Prince Loren expects when he comes around is a beautiful angel watching over him and medical technology of the mortal realm. Hazy from his injuries, all he can focus on is the pulse ticking in her throat and the sweet allure of her blood.

One single bite reveals she is his eternal mate, triggering a bond between them that will leave him weakened until it is complete… or broken, and pulling Olivia into the crossfire of his ancient feud.

To protect his people and his mate from the machinations of a madman, Loren must risk everything by working with Olivia at Archangel to find a way to break the bond blossoming between them.

But will Loren be strong enough to place duty before desire and give up the one thing he has waited millennia for and craves above all others—his eternal mate? And will Olivia be able to resist the incredible heat that burns between them and the temptation of her dark prince’s kiss?

I have to say, I enjoyed KISSED BY A DARK PRINCE even more than Claimed By A Demon King. It's just as rich and smoldering as Eternal Mates 2 but I find this to be more character driven than its sequel. The main theme of the story aside from the romance is the millenia long feud between two Elfin Princes, Vail and Loren. For thousands of years, Loren thought that his brother Vail willingly plundered, massacred and terrorized their people and other races. Turns out Vail is under the spell of his mate who's a witch and he's been compelled to do her atrocious wishes all this time. There's still a huge gap to close between the brothers but this discovery, thanks to Olivia, is the first step in the right direction and it's only a matter of time before this familial conflict is resolved.

And just so you know, Vail's story thread carried over in Claimed By A Demon King and I read somewhere that book 3 will be Vail's and after seeing how much he suffered here, I am looking forward to reading his redemption story. Who doesn't love family drama?! And as this is between Elfin Princes, you know that fisticuffs and a few choice words won't resolve their conflict.

And while Sable is a warrior princess, Olivia is the sexy scholarly geek. As the Archangel's doctor/scientist, Olivia has an inclination to be very inquisitive and sometimes her questions about Loren and his Elfin predilections made me LOL. But I do love Olivia, she's level-headed with the tendency to think before she acts and she fast became Loren's voice of reason. Olivia was also very instrumental in mediating Loren and Vail's conflicts, if not for her, Vail would be dead and Loren would sorely regret that in the long run.

Loren is a PNR Alpha male through and through. He's big, strong, possessive, brave and endowed in the right places. As the theme of mating is his thing, Loren was the first to fall in love with Olivia. But as Olivia is human and is unaware of how it works, Loren gave Oliva wide berth and allowed her to embrace and accept the idea while making her fall for him. We all know how these gruff otherworldly creatures are around their mates, they become instant teddy bears and it's the same with Loren. I'll be surprised if he doesn't endear himself to you.

I've already mentioned the super awesome world building and how Hell looks more like paradise than inferno. FHeaton also wove this amazing plot, the conflicts can be simplified but it runs deep and the relationships of between the characters, be it romantic, familial or friendship, are intense and investing. My favorite part in both books are the battle scenes, FHeaton didn't hold back on the blood and gore, it's all so vivid it's like a movie playing in my head. To sum it up, Eternal Mates is a very unique series with a great cast of preternatural creatures, FHeaton wrote a perfect amalgam of romance and paranormal this is a series you won't want to miss.

  17. I did read Claimed by A Demon King halfway and I was really enjoying but I decided to stop and read this book first because even though it can serve as a standalone, I think I will enjoy and understand this paranormal world and the princes more. I'm glad you enjoyed both books Braine and I'm really excited to read this series now!
