Bought, Borrowed & Bagged #94

BB&B (Bought, Borrowed and Bagged) is a weekly meme, inspired my The Story Siren and Pop Culture Junkie, where we share with you the books that we have bought, borrowed or bagged (won or gifted) plus a recap of the previous week's reviews, upcoming reviews, on going events and book movie or television news.

BB&B is an homage Barron's Books & Baubles from Karen Marie Moning's smash hit series, Fever.

Big & Small

Like most of you, I too am a fan of SUPERNATURAL Who can resist those wickedly sexy Winchester Brothers (Team Ackles)?! The show has been under cancellation threats and speculations that the producers are going to end the show for 4 seasons now. But I guess it's fandom is so big, CW can't end the series just yet. It's still has great ratings with a huge following and a cash cow they'll be a fool to drop Sam and Dean! Now for more good news, SUPERNATURAL is getting a spin-off!

SUPERNATURAL: BLOODLINES: This one is reported to feature more of the "monsters" the Winchester Brothers hunt, it's a “sweeping drama about the various mafia-esque monster families that, unknowingly to humans, run the underbelly of Chicago and are being tracked by a newly minted Hunter who’s trying to stop them and rid Chicago of anything or anyone supernatural.” The press release said that there will be a forbidden love between a female werewolf and one of the male leads. Sounds interesting, CW pretty much carved their niche in the vampire shows with The Originals and Vampire Diaries, it's not a surprise they want a slice of the shifter world too. Sam and Dean are reported to "introduce" their spin-off on the April 29th episode. Set your DVRs!

  1. WTFFFFFF?? An effing spin-off? OMG. I can't breath. I think I might have died and had an orgasm at the same time. Anything Supernatural is GOLD to me.

    1. I read about the spin-off a couple of months ago and thought that too. But if the writing and cast is good it could be fun.

    2. We'll see how it goes. I don't know the people they casted so I cant say if they're good or bad. I'm very curious at this point.

  4. I'm not sure what the point of having a spin-off is except to split followers up which is never good. Just look at CSI which spun off Miami and New York which didn't last long. Now NCIS is spinning off yet another series called NCIS- New Orleans! Once Upon A Time spun off Once upon in Wonderland and it just got cancelled! Either commit to the mother ship or don't CW. Anyway, stepping off my soap box.

    1. I think in this case it's a bit strategic? S10 may be the final season of Supernatural and they probably want the fans to "transfer" their love and loyalty to the new show.

  6. As much as I love Dean and Sam this season has sucked. I feel like an end should be near. It would be better for them to go out with us wanting more than us wishing they ended sooner. I miss the feel of the earlier shows before Bobby's death. I'm not liking this Men of Letters angle. I want road trip Winchesters back.

    1. I stopped watching when they did the Leviathans ARC. My son still watches and I'd catch and episode here and there. I still maintain that they should've ended the show as originally planned when Sam went to Hell.

  7. spinoffs are not a bad idea if they established themselves to be different. the originals is one of my favorite shows this year because it's different from the vampire diaries.
Awesome selection of books this week, SW.

    1. I can't stand TVD and Nina Dobrev! Ugh! Yes, The Originals I can do. Those siblings reminds me of Anne Rice's Lestat, Louis and Claudia.

  8. Oh you have to get caught up on Charley. I just finished all the audios and can't wait for the next one. I am hoping the spinoff is good because I know I'm going to be sad once Supernatural ends. Spinoff are great sometimes I stopped watching TV but love the Originals.

    1. Yup, The Originals is awesome mainly because of Klaus! He's a wicked and awesome anti-hero.

  17. I'm pretty stoked about the SPN spin off, mostly because I'm finding this latest series to be a bit of a drag even though I love the show. I hope you've enjoyed your books and congrats on the win
