Publisher: Montlake Romance

Genre: Contemporary Romance
War veteran Kennedy O’Brien is in the business of sticking it to the man—or at least any man who tries to cross a woman. After she returned home from Afghanistan and caught her husband in bed with the nanny, Kennedy lost her faith in men and started Fool Me Once Investigations with her two best friends. After all, there’s no better bounty hunter than a woman scorned.

When Kennedy takes a case to slap cuffs on a bail jumper turned dog-napper, she figures it’ll be an easy paycheck. But trouble has a way of finding Kennedy. Enter the last man on the planet she’d willingly choose as a partner: her cheating ex-husband’s best friend, Griffin Crawford.

As gorgeous as he is unwelcome, Griffin has always had a thing for Kennedy, and after keeping quiet about her ex’s cheating, he’ll do anything to earn back her trust. Whether or not she wants to admit it, Kennedy will need help as the case of the Chihuahua thief spirals out of control. Griffin may be just her man—in more ways than one.

GD hilarious!

And by GD I mean Goddamn! You have to read SHAME ON YOU, Tara Sivec's latest novel, to understand this inside joke. Anyway, this is my first TSivec and I assure you it won't be the last. I have one of her books and I'm ashamed to say that I haven't gotten round to it. Thanks to this book tour that error has been rectified and now I want more! Man this lady's got me in stitches, my 4yo nephew kept on asking me what's so funny because he says he wants to laugh too! LOL

Anyway, SHAME ON YOU is like The First Wives Club invited Stephanie Plum for cocktails and decided to open a private investigation company. The novel opens with Kennedy and her BFFs/business partners, Paige and Lorelei, bashing their respective former husbands for cheating hence the series title. Then it moves to the ladies picking their cases with Kennedy's leading the pack. Kennedy's case led to a string of hilarious situations which includes an alien chaser, a dog-napped chihuahua, a Germedishuthuanian hairdresser, a vapid collegiate, a bathroom quickie, a weed dealer, a back-door-busting special and so much more. This 140 paged novel is packed with the funnies and tightly coiled sexual tension between Kennedy and Griffin, SHAME ON YOU is a big bang for your time and precious buck!

I love Kennedy O'Brien. She's a little bitter, understandably so, because her hubby cheated on her with a much younger girl but she's not the type who wallows. She shakes it off, moves on and catches bad guys. Kennedy's not tough to love. She's pretty but not vain, she's funny, a toughie but still a girl's girl and can wield a gun with the same elan as wearing short dresses and mile high stilettos. And these are the same things Griffin saw, still there's no insta-love, just insta-lust.

Well as far as Kennedy's concerned anyway and I can't blame her.

Because Griffin Crawford is one gorgeous dude with his bedimpled smile and tight round butt. Him and Kennedy had a thing back in high school but because they were stupid kids, it didn't pan out. Now they have a second chance in love and boy did Griffin seize the opportunity! Once he got Kennedy within reach, he kept on going until her got her and never let her go. As expected, there's several hilarious pushing and pulling between the two which only proves how well suited they are for each other.

So if you love to laugh like I do and are a fan of Stephanie Plum, SHAME ON YOU is a must-read.
Even though I wanted to puke when they walked into the restaurant together hand in hand, the night was made all better by watching Alex sob like a baby out in the parking lot. Real tears and everything. It was beautiful. If only he would have wet himself, I could have died a happy woman. Maybe next time. [Kennedy]

"Let's get something straight here," he tells me with a firm voice. "I have never felt sorry for you. When I kiss you, it's because I want to, not because I have to." [Griffin]

    1. LOL, the first scene is very FWC & Stephanie Plum is the benchmark for female sleuths when it comes to humourous romantic suspense. She did it!

  14. Shame on You sounds fabulous, Braine! I love to laugh, and I love a woman who can take care of herself, even if she's been left a little bit bitter. A woman who is both feminine and can wield a gun is great to read about!

Thanks for your great review, adding Shame on You to my TBR :)
