Hope Jones did a very, very stupid thing. She betrayed the man she was falling in love with just to keep her job, and is crippled with guilt.

But now she has a problematic new neighbor who’s more than just a pain in the ass, a new addiction to breakfast breads, and she has to try and teach a teenager how to drive.

Will she be able to do all this, get past the darkness in her past that comes calling, and still save her job… again?

Hope Breaks ended with heartbreak and in HOPE ENTANGLES, book 2 of Alice Bello's Hope Triology, we witness Hope and Jake struggle with their break-up. The novella opens with Hope Jones grieving over Jake. Garbed in her Hello Kitty pj's, she deals with the guilt and heartbreak by pigging out on junk food, skipping showers, watching sappy movies and every imaginable stereotype when one is dealing with heartbreak. But it wasn't dark and moody all throughout, shortly after there's a string of funny encounters and some are infused with squee worthy sexual tention. It looks like Hope found a rebound guy in new neighbor, Raphael Morales, who IMO is a better choice than Jake.

HOPE ENTANGLES is a funny romcom told in dual POV's, Hope and Jake's. Hope's chapters are simply hilarious and I do find this one better and funnier than Hope Breaks amidst the break-up theme. Jake's are broody, moody and a little creepy, he stooped down to stalker level because he's too prideful to check on Hope in person. Obviously his feelings for Hope are stronger than what he probably anticipated and though he was the one who called it off, it's clear that he's regretting his decision. The best part in Jake's chapters is when he finally told off his mom and sister and kicked them out of his house for interfering with his love life.

Speaking of which, that's probably my favorite part in the book. Just a little backstory, Jake and Hope went to the same high school together. Jake's sister is Queen B and has terrorized Hope throughout her 4 years in HS and their mother is no better either, for some reason she also dislikes Hope. When these two found out who Jake is dating, they immediately stormed to Hope's hope with every intention of embarrassing her and the like. Good thing Hope's mom, which is even a bigger bitch than those two combined, came to her "rescue" but not before getting it on with Jake's mom. In short, their families are cray-cray!

Which brings me back to what I said that I'm liking this Raphael guy better. Not only is he good for Hope on paper but just thinking about spending the holidays with Jake's mother and sister is such a horrid thought. Add Hope's mom to the mix and it's like Summer Slam every Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's excluding birthdays and anniversaries. Come on, Hope, why would you want to do that to yourself?

Anyway, I can smell LOVE TRIANGLE in the air and though I hate this trope in general, I'm looking forward to this one because I can tell it's going to be hilarious. Not only that, Raphael is a good rival to Jake and I'm excited to see how it's all going to play out. HOPE ENTANGLES is one funny pot-stirrer! While Hope Breaks was sizzling with hot smex, HOPE ENTANGLES made me giddy with the possibility of a new romance and Hope's muy caliente neighbor is drool worthy. If you're curious, Hope Breaks is still FREE at Amazon and don't me derailed by the lukewarm rating, I promise you it gets better after that. Hope just had a rocky start and she more than made up for it this time around.

  1. This sounds like a fun series! I'm not a big fan of love triangles either, they have to be done just right... hope this one turns out well. Great review!

    1. It is funny and the scenes are ridiculous. I have book 3 and I think I'll be reading it today just because I dislike being kept in suspense.
