Romantic Suspense
Untold wealth, a loving family, a solid career in America: the only thing Princess Tatiana lacks is the one thing she really doesn’t want—a husband. Unfortunately, her parents have just arranged her marriage to a royal from the old country. Are they kidding? It’s the twenty-first century!

Police Detective Peter Roman is a royal living incognito … and escaping a secret that has haunted his family for years. He’s been quietly in love with his best friend Prince Alexander’s sister for as long as he can remember. Little does she know that he is secretly the Grand Duke to whom she is unwillingly betrothed…

When a series of high-end jewelry heists threatens Tatiana’s exclusive charity exhibition in glamorous Monaco, the two must trap the clever jewel thief before he strikes again. In a fight for their lives, Peter’s secret identity is revealed. With danger and passion increasing to the breaking point, she must decide: catch a thief…or trust the heart of her true love.

The Family Jewels

One of the fun things about researching TO CATCH A PRINCESS was finding interesting jewels that I might adapt and include in the various heists being done by the Thief of Hearts in the book. Since the hero and heroine are Russian, I jumped on the Net to find out more about not only Russian royalty, but also their jewels.

I mean, they had such fabulous items, like these royal goodies that are on display in the Kremlin Armory, Moscow. Many of the goodies disappeared after the Russian Revolution or ended up on display in various museums.

In TO CATCH THE PRINCESS, Prince Sergei has hired the Thief of Hearts to recapture jewels which he believes rightfully belong to him. Incredible jewels that are now in the hands of others who acquired them after the revolution.

Here are some of the jewels I located during my search to create those jewels Prince Sergei has hired the Thief of hearts to steal in TO CATCH A PRINCESS.
This is a royal tiara much like the one that was stolen in the museum heist in the book. In TO CATCH A PRINCESS, this is instead a tiara of aquamarines and diamonds. Aquamarines were apparently a favorite of certain Russian royals.

I also created a fictional bracelet to match that tiara! That fictional bracelet might have looked a little like this one:

Now I love sapphires myself and since Princess Tatiana has blue eyes, so I totally had to have her wearing a luscious necklace of diamonds and sapphires on her date with sexy detective Peter Roman. Maybe something like this:

I also took a peek at some French Royal jewels to create the fictional birthday gift that Peter’s father, the Grand Duke, gave to his wife. That combination of gold, diamonds and rubies might have looked something like these royal baubles in the center of the photo.

I hope you enjoyed this behind the scenes look at the jewelry in TO CATCH A PRINCESS. Thank you for visiting with me.
