When a choice is made, it will forever alter the course of our destiny. It cannot be undone, for fate is a river changing direction and carving away the bed of our hearts like everlasting fractures.

A difficult past has left Silver broken, but she is learning to trust again through Logan Cross, a Chitah who has convinced her that a dangerous man can change. Their conviction for each other will be put to the ultimate test when an old nemesis reappears and flips her world upside down. Will Logan be able to tame the animal within, or will he succumb to his impulsive nature?

The ongoing investigation into Breed experiments unveils a shocking secret about Silver’s past. Standing at a fork in the road, Silver is forced to make a decision. Each comes with consequence, and there is no turning back.

Silver's Journey

Take a moment to think about yourself in this very moment. Who you are, what you stand for, and what you’ve accomplished. If you compare that to where you were five, ten, fifteen years ago, you’ll recognize that you’re on a journey. We are constantly moving forward in life, and each experience we endure, each chance encounter, shapes us into the person we will eventually become. We make mistakes. We learn. We struggle. We love.

When I first wrote Silver in “Sterling”, she went by Zoe. I planned for her to lose her identity and go through a transitional phase, so it was important to make her as ordinary as possible. This story began as a story about a woman stripped of her name, her identity, her physical appearance, her family and friends, and the world as she knows it. When put in an extraordinary situation, it forced her to react. Part of writing her story was trying to put myself in her shoes. Do we always listen to others when they give us advice or tell us what to do? Most of us don’t like to be controlled, and that is exactly what she encounters midway through the book.

Because I’m a panster, I had not planned what would happen in Twist while I was still writing Sterling. It wasn’t until she met Logan Cross that I realized Silver was on a journey of self-discovery with the loss of her identity.

This is a story about a young woman challenged with discovering who she is, what she is capable of, where she wants to be, how much she’s willing to trust, and what she is willing to sacrifice for. The series evolved into an opportunity to hold a magnifying glass up to the protagonist and find out what makes her tick. That’s a scary thought for anyone if someone put our lives under a microscope.

By the time I reached Impulse, her journey became clear. This isn’t about the heroine making the perfect choices. This is about all of us stumbling through life and trying to figure out what’s best for us, even if we have to learn through hindsight. For me, Silver has evolved into a complex character. Readers will see her emotional growth through each book as she learns what we all want to know:

Who am I?

Why am I here?

What is the purpose of my life?

As an author, writing a character in a series has been one of the most surprising experiences. I’ve written stand-alone novels and you get a glimpse of growth, but nothing quite compares to the long journey in a series. I hope that readers will see these characters as more than two-dimensional, but reflections of ourselves. The books touch on serious social and political topics, as well as personal ones.

My hope is that by the end, readers will appreciate who Silver has become, and more importantly, who she will continue to become as the years go by.

Down in Texas, there's a woman who drinks copious amounts of vitamin water placed precariously close to her laptop. Yeah, I know. I've got a drinking problem. Hi, I'm Danni.

Some people count sheep when they have insomnia. Since I was little, I used to make up stories in my head in a futile attempt to bore myself to sleep. The problem was, I'd get so wrapped up in my "head stories" that I would continue them through the following nights, changing it up each time to make it more exciting. Eventually, I started writing my ideas down more and more, creating short stories which evolved into poetry.

Another one of my hobbies is digital art. I designed all my book covers.

I am finally doing what I have always wanted to: giving my characters a pulse through publishing. I write adult urban fantasy romance, but I don't like labels. I let the story tell itself, and color outside the lines. I am not a YA author, but I think it’s pretty great that there are so many books available to teens in Urban Fantasy and Paranormal. These are the future readers!
