Tess Jennings’ life is in chaos. Her ghost lover, Kipp McGowen, vanished into the Netherworld without a trace. Now, she finds herself in White Castle, Louisiana, surrounded by the Animus—a secret society of the supernaturally gifted. To make matters worse, they present her with an offer she cannot refuse.

If she helps solve the murder of their Grand Master, they will assist her in saving Kipp. Soon, Tess will land herself lost in another mystery she doesn’t want. But she will have to trust her enemies to gain what she most desires—a life with Kipp.

Only problem? People are hiding secrets and dark pasts. Tess will soon discover that nothing is as it seems. She might want to save Kipp from his ghostly state, but someone has decided it’s better for her to join him.

Initially I thought that MYSTICALLY BOUND would be the last Frostbite series novel and I was a little saddened that the series was ending. I love Tess and Kipp and saying goodbye to them is very hard! Then Stacey Kennedy announced that Tess and Kipp's farewell is a two-part NOVEL instead of the novella length of Supernaturally Kissed and Demonically Tempted. As I'm a fan of both Stacey and the series, I was beyond elated over the good news.

And thus began the long adieu. MYSTICALLY BOUND is so hard to review because there's a lot going on in the book that will spoil the story for those of you who haven't read it yet. So pardon me for sounding a little vague here but I can't allow myself to give out too many details lest I ruin the experience for you.

In Demonically Tempted we learn that Kipp isn't exactly a ghost but more of a lost soul. In MYSTICALLY BOUND Tess is hell bent on rectifying this situation and giving Kipp's soul freedom but not without a price. As the blurb says, the Animus placed conditions on Tess before they help her out in freeing Kipp from his ghostly state. This is so frustrating and a pain to read through because I love them both and all I want for them is to be together in the real sense of the word! I mean their ghost sex is hot as hell but I am anxious for them to have their happy ending but SKennedy wants to torture us a little bit more. Gah!

MYSTICALLY BOUND feels like a transition volume but a very important one. Maybe transition is the wrong word but for lack of a better one I'll just use it loosely... anyway, now I understand why their story took two NOVELS two wrap up because there's just so much going in in Kipp's situation that cannot be squeezed into one novella. I felt the urgency of it all and  I hate the Animus for tying up Tess to this investigation instead of just helping her outright with Kipp's case. We won't be seeing too much of Kipp here and on those scenes where we do see him, it's a little sad because he's somewhat fading and I can feel Tess panic a little because it seems like we're losing Kipp.

This goodbye if motherfudging painful! The hoops these two have to go through is driving me crazy but it will only make their HEA so much sweeter.

Witty characters, dominant men, danger, action, romance and hot sex―oh my!

My urban fantasy romance novels are lighthearted fantasy with heart squeezing, thigh-clenching romance, and even give a good chuckle every now and again. But within the stories you’ll find fast paced action, emotions we can all relate to, life threatening moments and a big bad villain that needs to be destroyed.

My erotic romance novels are just that…erotic. There is nothing better than taking the dominant men I love and watching them do wicked things to their women. I make the stories as hot as I possibly can and usually the characters take it a step further to even make my cheeks blush. But I just can’t write without a little humor added into the mix so that’s always a must have in my stories. And of course, what’s a story without a big dose of emotional characters, too.

I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband who gave me my happily ever after. We have two small children who keep me on my toes and can always make me smile. But we also have basically a zoo at our house with one dog and three cats. I love the outdoors, camping, curling up with the latest flick and simply enjoying life.

  3. great giveaway! I don't think I have read a ghost story yet!

  4. I haven't read a lot of ghostly reads, so the only one that comes to mind is the classic A CHRISTMAS CAROL.

  5. I'm so sad to say goodbye to Kipp and Tess but I enjoyed their story and look forward to re-reading it many times to come. My favorite ghostly read is When the Spirit Is Willing by Margaret Chittenden. Thanks for the great review and giveaway.

  8. Replies
    1. I love pretty much every ghost story/romance that I've read, but don't really have a favorite.

  9. One of my most recent ghostly reads was The Ghost Exterminator by Vivi Andrews. I thoroughly enjoyed this ghostly romance.

  10. Dark needs at Night's Edge by Kresley Cole is one of my favorites, a murdered ballerina and a insane vamp, lots of drama. I read the beginning of Kipp and Tess's story and loved it but there were so many unanswered questions (especially with Kip's old partner). Can't wait to get the answers.

  11. I am fairly new to the genre but I love it. Thanks for the giveaway!

  12. I love any ghostly reads!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  13. I love Kresley Cole's Dark Needs at Night's Edge. NĂ©omi Laress is such a sexy ghost and she is a perfect mate for the dark vampire Conrad. sdylion(at)gmail(dot)com

  14. I read some of the Meg Cabot ghost books and then other urban fiction that just happens to have ghosts in it. I don't usually seek out ghost books but usally shifter or vamp but I do have a few on my TBR. Thanks for the giveaway.
