Who is Sebastian Lock?
The bar Sophia Pearce is in doesn't look like much. The wine is bad and the decor worse. But when a sudden attack of curiosity leads her to sneak past security and into the back room, she discovers something unimaginable. The most lavish party she's ever laid eyes on, in the most unlikely of places.
But that's nothing compared to what comes next, to the man she meets back there. Sebastian Lock. Gorgeous, commanding, and radiating charm, he is exactly the sort of silver-tongued rake Sophia has sworn to avoid. Unfortunately, he doesn't care much for her promises.
Every instinct tells her to run, but the chemistry between them is as inescapable as gravity. Soon, he's opening her eyes to a whole new world of pleasures, pleasures she never thought she'd enjoy.
There's just one problem. Sebastian is more than he seems. Between the famous company he keeps and the almost paranoid secrecy of his employers, he's a puzzle Sophia can't quite solve, and his insistence on keeping things casual forces her to confront the demons of her past.
Can she learn to trust again? Or will Sebastian's privacy tear them apart?
This is a 35,000 word novella, or about 120 pages. It contains light BDSM, including spanking, restraint, and anal play, and is intended for readers aged 18 and over.
This novel and the succeeding review is recommended for readers 18 and up due to its strong sexual content.
I'm not the sort of guy that dates. I don't have the time or the inclination to be tied down, and I make no apologies for that. but that doesn't automatically make me some asshole who just uses women and then throws them away.
I love Nooners!
LOCKED by Maya Cross packs a mean punch! OK I better quit with the exclamation points because I feel like I'm just screaming here. Going back to the story, LOCKED is a cool, short, BDSM erotica story. Domineering, rich, cocky Alpha Male. Unassuming vanilla heroine. Highly stimulating sexual innuendos. Hot bed scenes. Bondage. Kink. What's good is we get to have instant gratification because this is roughly 120 pages only.
Short of the story is Sophia Pearce is a lawyer and Sebastian Locke is this ridiculously rich dude who oozes with power and sex appeal. Without giving too many spoilers, because I promise you'd want to find out for yourself how they met... sort of, they ended up having insta-lust from the first meeting. But as they come from different ends of the sexual sphere, with Locke into Kink (with a capital K) and Sophia as sweet as vanilla, it's quite interesting how Sebastian lures her slowly into his world, training Sophia to be his sub. It seems like she'll be into it but Sophia is a little headstrong so I'm curious if she'll pull Sebastian her way to make things work better for her so to speak.
LOCKED is pretty much your usual BDSM story. Everything that we want/need in a kinky romance is squeezed in this novella. So I'm sure that if you do pick this up it'll be an indulgence of sorts. Personally I didn't find anything in The Alpha Group 1 that stood out to me BUT I LOVED it because like I said, it just hits the right spot. It might be formula but it's very good formula. Plus as this is volume one I'm assuming/hoping that the next couple of books will veer off formula and The Alpha Group series will be it's own.
Simple is great. I don't need romantic dates or bloody hand crafted mix tapes, but I do need to feel like I'm more than just a walking vagina that operates at your beck and call.
Maya Cross is a writer who enjoys making people blush. Growing up with a mother who worked in a book store, she read a lot from a very young age, and soon enough picked up a pen of her own. Her previous work spans many genres including horror, science fiction, and fantasy, and she has now started this pen name as an outlet for her spicier thoughts (they were starting to overflow). She likes her heroes strong but mysterious, her encounters sizzling, and her characters true to life.
She believes in writing familiar narratives told with a twist, so most of her stories will feel comfortable, but hopefully a little unique. Whatever genre she's writing, finding a fascinating concept is the first, and most important step.
The Alpha Group is her first attempt at erotic romance.
When she's not writing, she's playing tennis, trawling her home town of Sydney for new inspiration, and drinking too much coffee.
She loves to hear from readers, so please feel free to follow her on any of her social media channels. And don't forget to check out her website. You can sign up to her mailing list there, to hear about new releases and any promotional sales she might be running.
