Tour Stop Review: The Seduction by Lisa Renee Jones

The Seduction
Rebecca's Lost Journals 1
Inside Out Trilogy Prequel Novellas
Lisa Renee Jones
Simon & Schuster
January 28, 2013
The secret life of Rebecca and the men who have seduced her.

These are the journals Sara never sees, but you, the reader, will.

The journals read like stories and begin the first time Rebecca visits the gallery in the INSIDE OUT TRILOGY. You will meet Mark, Chris, Ava, Amanda, Ricco, and all the series characters as she does AND there are tons of clues to what happens in BEING ME in the first 4 serials. They are woven within the story ready for your discovery, as is Rebecca’s dark, erotic journey.

Ever since Sarah McMillan found her journal this reviewer, and the rest of the masses who had the fortunate experience of reading Lisa Renee Jones' If I Were You, were Curious Georges about who they mystery woman is! THE SEDUCTION is the first volume of five erotic serials titled Rebecca's Lost Journals and the story is told via journal entries. Remember those crazy, sexy ass diaries Sarah can't get enough of? Well we get to read every darn entry with her now.
"I'm afraid of losing who I am, and being only what he lets me be,"

(I finally got that quote right!)
Finally Rebecca MASON's (Yes people, she finally has a last name!) story is being told! THE SEDUCTION is Rebecca's Journal entries from December 4, 2010 to February 16, 2011. In roughly two months and some change, Rebecca's life took a quick turn the minute she met Mark Compton. From a waitress working for tips, Rebecca is now working at Mark's gallery, commissioning generous sums of money from auctions and sales. When I met Mark in If I Were You I must say I wasn't a fan, he felt cold and suspicious to me but here I see a different Mr. Compton, still bossy but more easy going. The identity of Rebecca's Master is also revealed but I won't say who however I think most of you have a clue of who is is. The volume ended with Rebecca contemplating if being a submissive is a wise decision or not.

THE SEDUCTION isn't cramped with events or rushed as some serials are. Perhaps it's because the story was written in journal entries so the dialogue, thoughts and emotions were straightforward making the pace even but snappy. It accomplished what it''s supposed to give us and that is (1) introduce the key characters, (2) insert the conflict, (3) turn up the heat. THE SEDUCTION shed light on Rebecca's character a bit and though there's so much more to be told about her, this volume was satisfying in a way that some of our questions about her is finally answered so don't miss out!

P.S. Apparently my speculations are wrong... the Master isn't who I thought it was.

Pre-Order The Seduction

Braine: Hi Lisa! I know you're in Paris (SO JEALOUS!) so big thanks for stopping by Talk Supe and I am very excited on how Inside Out is turning into this big exciting series!

Lisa Renee Jones: Thank you! I'm excited. This series is near and dear to my heart because it was inspired by a real journal my fiancee found when we were buying and selling storage auctions. It's crazy how something you do in your life can effect another part of your life. Had we never delved into the storage auction world this idea never would have come about. It also took me years to formally put it on paper so I got to know the characters and they have become so very real to me. There are some exciting things going on with the series I can't talk about yet but hope to soon. It's just been amazing and thrilling to see all the potential it has.

Braine: Rebecca's Journals. As of this interview, the blurb for the journals are not up yet. Can you tell us a little bit more about this serial?

Lisa Renee Jones: The journals start the minute Rebecca walks into the gallery the first time and they end right before Sara ends up there in IF I WERE YOU. You will actually live Rebecca meeting her Master and deciding to be a submissive and how that happens, plus how it changes her.

Braine: From IF I WERE YOU, it feels like Rebecca met a very unfortunate end or something to that effect. Is her storyline darker and grittier than Sarah's?

Lisa Renee Jones: She is completely different than Sara and you will see how different. However, BEING ME is pretty darn dark and gritty so I can't say it's darker. Just different. BEING ME is no easy ride. There will be dark things happen. Lots of them. I hope they lead to places though that you will all find satisfying.

Braine: Are Chris and Mark key characters in Rebecca's story?

Lisa Renee Jones: No names are named. You will have to guess who is who. Rebecca doesn't use names to protect identities if her journals are ever found.

Braine: Darn! I thought I could sneak that in! Anyway, Rebecca's story is just screaming to be told from the start. Did you have any particular challenges in writing the Journals?

Lisa Renee Jones: Oh yes! They were the hardest thing I've ever written. Writing in journal entries was hard and I needed it to become a story. I hope you will enjoy how I did that. More so though I didn't use names and I included lots of clues. I couldn't give away too much. It was challenging.

Braine: You mentioned before that Blake Walker, a character from your other sexy series, Tall Dark and Deadly, is crossing over Inside Out. Can you tell us what his role in Inside Out going to be and which book will we see him?

Lisa Renee Jones: He is in BEING ME and he may show up in REVEALING US. He is an old friend of one of the main characters and that is all I can tell now:)

Braine: You're really keeping a tight lid on things aren't you. Although I appreciate you keeping us in suspense, it makes me even more excited to read Rebecca's Journals. Now I hope you'll agree but can you share a teaser from Rebecca Journals?
He motioned me inside and I stepped over the entryway. He shut the door behind me, but didn’t touch me. Instead he stepped in front of me again, and his gaze swept my scantily clad body, lingering on my tightly puckered nipples, male appreciation glowing from the depths of his gaze.

When his eyes lifted to mine again, he said, “Last chance to back out.”

I lifted my chin and met his stare. “I don’t want to back out.”

Satisfaction slid over his face.“Then there are rules.”

“Rules?” My knees were liquid, my body one big, eager nerve ending. I wanted his rules. I can’t explain why. I don’t understand why.

“Rules,” he confirmed. “To start, you don’t speak unless I ask a question. You don’t do anything I don’t tell you to do.You do exactly what I say you do. Normally, I would say I’ll also do anything I wish to you, but until we have an agreement with your limits, I’ll refrain from going places I might otherwise go.”

Some part of me rebelled. This isn’t me. I don’t get commanded by anyone but myself. But it was me.

“Understand?” he asked.

“Yes.” I couldn’t keep the tremble from my voice.

Alpha, military, and paranormal romance readers will want Jones’ entire series.”

  16. Thanks for stopping by everyone! I don't think I'm built to be a sub either, I think I'm more of a dominatrix. It's fun to live vicariously through these characters though.

    Good luck!
