Format: Digital (from Stacey)
Excerpt
Release Date: December 13, 2012
Purchase: Amazon | Barnes & Noble

Libby is an Enchantress—a witch gifted by the Goddess to conjure spells. When a magical presence is detected around a recent string of feline slayings, Libby takes the case to uncover the reasons behind the odd deaths. Much to her displeasure, the coven also sends a sexy warlock, Kale, to assist her.

While having the muscle around proves to be useful, fighting the attraction between them is worse than a hex, especially considering Kale is keeping secrets. But soon, Libby has bigger problems than the elusive warlock when her spells turn up clues that point to something far more sinister than slaughtered cats.

Now Libby has landed herself in the midst of an uprising. She trusts no one and isn’t safe—not from the warlocks stirring up trouble. Not from the worrisome rebellion she can’t escape. And certainly not from Kale, who is weaving a very dangerous spell over her heart.

I love Stacey Kennedy! If I haven't said it yet consider this post my official declaration of love for her.

CAT'S MEOW, book one of Stacey Kennedy's latest series, Witch's Brew, is a magical and sexy tale about Libby Jenkins, an Enchantress and how she managed to get accepted in to the prestigious group called Alchemy, bound herself to a Prince of Hell, kill off her opportunistic and ruthless ex-boyfriend, Bryon Holt, get herself a cool book of spells blessed by the Goddess herself, and snag herself a drop-dead gorgeous High Priest/Warlock, Kale Griffin.
Hot damn, this was a make-you-scream-my-name kiss.
If there's one thing SKennedy is really good at it's creating great sexual tension and my knickers were twisted in a tight bunch all throughout CAT'S MEOW. I've also noticed that one of SKennedy's signature scenes are making sex dreams. Like her Frostbite books, Supernaturally Kissed and Demonically Tempted, Libby's erotic dream starring Kale was no different. Why can't my dreams be like this?!
CAT'S MEOW is a fun romantic Urban Fantasy story you don't want to miss. It's a big cauldron of witches, warlocks, demons, spell casting, bloody rituals, close encounters topped with hot and spicy chemistry between Libby and Kale, it's a challenge to put the book down. Libby is a wonderful heroine to follow, she's leery, self deprecating and a little insecure about her powers but despite these she's strong, very capable and has good decision making skills. Kale is a sensual and mysterious fellow, it's hard not to have a crush on the guy. He's very patient with Libby, letting her take the lead and sometimes I just want to grab them both, put a gun to their stubborn heads and have them consummate their fiery attraction to each other. The burning gazes and lip licking were torture, SKennedy didn't put out til towards the latter part of the book and that's my only regret because I want more horizontal time with Kale! Gah!
This warlock was hot with his shirt on, but off... I licked my lips and squirmed. "Seriously, Kale, you are so damn sexy."
The pacing is fast, SKennedy didn't hold back on the action, piling up the mysteries and matching it with the building tension between Libby and Kale until it unravels into one amazing ending worthy of firecrackers. I also like that the main plot and conflict of the story was resolved, I don't like it when a simple story arc is unnecessarily dragged out to lengthen the series, which means there'll be new conflicts, characters and adventures in book 2 when Libby moves to New Orleans.

So what are you waiting for?! GET CAT'S MEOW, it's fun and Libby Jenkins is making Dulcie O'Niel and Jolie Wilkins a run for their money.

  4. I haven't read any of her books yet, but I follow her on facebook and see all her posts, so I feel like I know her really well! I think this might be a good book of hers to start with. Right now my goal is to not add more series to list until I get through some, but once I do that I am all over checking this one out! I love the title and cover!
