A sizzling romantic suspense.

Her enemy is her passion, her passion is her enemy.

Lindsey Paxton was once the number one defense attorney in New York. She fought for those who were innocent, but charged. Her instincts were her lifeline, never failing her, as they guided her in her choices of who to defend. Or so she thought. Until she won a case she would forever wish to have lost. Her client, an accused rapist, kills and rapes a woman only a day after being set free. Destroyed by her role in the woman's death, Lindsey blames her father's controlling ways for what she has become, and runs from her career and life. Years later - the past becomes the present . . . Her father has cancer, and Lindsey is forced to leave her career with the Washington branch of the FBI. She finds herself facing the responsibility of running her father's law firm with the reluctant help of hotshot attorney Mark Reeves, a man who sparks her temper while also managing to tempt her body, her mind, maybe even her heart. With his help she finds herself fighting the emotional battles of the past, tempted to trust both him and her instincts. Now, faced with a case inherited from her father so similar to her career-ending one, she now must decide if her instincts will lead her down the path to saving an innocent man or setting free another killer. But while she fights her own battles, someone watches, wanting from the past what he had failed to get the first time . . . Lindsey.

SECRETS EXPOSED by Lisa Renee Jones was a good sampler on the taste and feel of her Tall, Dark and Sexy series. After reading, If I Were You, I know I have to read more of her contemporary novels and TD&S is as good as any place to start.

SECRETS EXPOSED has a sexy, thrilling crime mystery vibe to it and though I envy Lindsey Paxton for her beauty, brains and gorgeous arm/man candy, Mark Reeves, I don't want to be in her shoes. Defending a guilty client is tough, dealing with an obsessed serial rapist who's fond of victimizing girls who looks like you is another. Throughout the novel I was trying to solve who this person is as hard as Lindsey and Mark and when the identity of this perp was finally revealed, he's the last person I expect to accost Lindsey in such a disturbing manner.
Her eyes went wide at the sight he made. Sexy, powerful, and far too attractive for Lindsey's comfort, he seemed to fill the room with his presence.
Lindsey and Mark is a cute couple and from the start you can feel the sexual tension between these two. Mark is so male, very protective and loyal to Lindsey. Even if the latter was having doubts about him, Mark rode it out patiently and proved to her that he wants to be a permanent fixture in Lindsey's life. Mark has everything I like in a hero and he's designed to make us feel giddy and inspire a little envy because Lindsey is one lucky lady to have snagged a very eligible bachelor like him. Lindsey for her part fits the part of heroine perfectly and though she's the target of a very disturbing obsession, she proved that she's not someone one could easily victimize and that makes her a good heroine in my book.

I so love this book, this is very indicative of the direction this series is taking however if you decide to skip this and proceed to Hot Secrets, you can do that too as SECRETS EXPOSED is a completely different story from the ones starring LRJone's Walker Brothers. I think the similarity lies in the theme: thought-provoking, fantasy-inducing, thrilling mysteries designed to have us gasping for air and our hearts pounding like a dragon boat drum. And if SECRETS EXPOSED is mild compared to the succeeding books, then I'm in for the challenge, a sexy mystery is good for the mind and the heart, keeps us healthy.
Everything male in him wanted to grab her and pull her into his arms and tell her everything would work out.
LRJones can really whip up a good mystery and this is one of the reasons why I have become a fan of her work. She told me that SECRETS EXPOSED is tame compared to the next three Walker books in the series because this one was written with the intention of being part of a public library collection and said libraries wanted a tame romance novel sitting on their shelves. She assured me that the Walker Brothers are spicy so I think tame is an adjective that will not be applicable to this series moving forward.

So what are you waiting for? Grab any of Lisa's books, you won't regret it!

NOTE: I had a convo with Lisa about this book and if you have a copy, please know that she's aware of  the errors in the font style and size, she said that she tried fixing it several times but most likely the glitch occurred when she converted the file into a mobi format. So I hope that you won't ding her for this technicality, the story is so much more than a couple of boo-boos.
