Shay Morgan has stayed hidden for a long time. Living a reclusive life in Earth’s End, Alaska, she’s as far away as she can get from the trauma of her childhood and the man who hurt her long ago. But terror takes over Shay’s life yet again when an unknown stalker steals away the fragile peace she’s built for herself—targeting not only her but the one man who’s ever managed to get past the walls she’s built around herself.

Elliot Winter has lived through being falsely accused before—it ruined his military career. Now it’s happening all over again. And this time, his accuser is a twisted impostor who’s targeting his ex-girlfriend, Shay. Despite a fierce mutual attraction, Shay and Elliot broke up because Shay couldn’t let her guard down, couldn’t let Elliot in. But now they both need to trust each other to confront a psycho who seems to know all their secrets.

If The Net, Single White Female and The Orphan had a ménage a trois and had a baby, that would be STOLEN by Shiloh Walker. This stand-alone novel is suspenseful and will have any reader realize some latent nightmares and paranoia they didn’t even know existed until they’ve read this latest book from SWalker.

The story was pee-in-your-pants creepy and Shay Morgan’s fears leapt off the pages, I felt her paranoia, desperation, frustration and the fear that things will just keep on getting worse. See Shay is someone only a handful of people know, she’s an introvert, borderline agoraphobic and has a secret life that only her sister and bestfriends knows about. Things started unraveling when someone started posing as her and whoever this person is is certainly causing havoc in Shay’s personal life, damaging personal and business relationships and Shay is determined to find out who this person is.
If you allowed an evil to continu and you did nothing to stop it, and there was something you could have done, you were just as bad as the evil-doers. - Virna
But Shay’s investigation led her to some deep psych trip that proved to be cathartic in the end but the process was excruciating. Shay was forced to stop running from her dragons and instead she was made to stand her ground and face it if she ever wants to find out the identity of attacker. Shay’s backstory is dark and forbidding as she's a survivor of abuse and other nightmarish family dysfunctions, no wonder her brain shut down and refused to remember the important parts and her demons would just manifest through her dreams and anxieties. As a victim of child abuse, her greatest fear is her scum of a stepfather going after her again. These latest disturbances in her otherwise peaceful and secluded life in Alaska is being threatened and the clues her stalker is leaving behind can be traced back to her childhood.

STOLEN is a story about identity theft and obsession. The mystery behind the person doing the attacks was very much given but what will make your heart stop is who this person really is, her motives, the lengths she will go through to get what she wants. Until the latter quarter of the book SWalker keeps on peeling layers off her plot and I found myself exclaiming WHAT?! several times because the story is so full of knots and SWalker really took her time in ironing out the creases and revealing the mysteries.
He wanted to undo every fucking hurt that had been done to her. That, damn it, he'd at least try to do. - Elliot

I want you to touch me. I'm so tired of the strongest memories I have being those memories. Give me better ones, Elliot. - Shay
Of course an SWalker novel is not complete without some smoking smex, STOLEN is pretty tame compared to her other erotica books but it’s still steamy nonetheless. Elliot is no chopped liver and his intimate moments with Shay were very emotional. Elliot was very protective of Shay and his restraint and the tenderness he demonstrated were very touching. At the same time, I also felt Shay’s anxiety and her desperate need to have her bad memories replaced by good ones and Elliot was more than glad to be of help. I must say that I probably enjoyed Elliot and Shay’s sexy time than SWalker’s more graphic sex scenes.

I was so absorbed by this story from page 1 and SWalker never let me go until I’ve read the ending. STOLEN is indeed a romantic suspense and a great one at that. I can’t tell you enough how good the story is without telling you the entire story. The best way for you to do is go get a copy and read it for yourself, this is one of those books that’s worth every cent and I can assure you that you’ll be raving about this as well.
