Evie's paranormal past keeps coming back to haunt her. A new director at the International Paranormal Containment Agency wants to drag her back to headquarters. The Dark Faerie Queen is torturing humans in her poisonous realm. And supernatural creatures keep insisting that Evie is the only one who can save them from a mysterious, perilous fate.

The clock is ticking on the entire paranormal world. And its fate rests solely in Evie's hands.

So much for normal.

All good things must come to an end and so it goes for Kiersten White's Paranormalcy Series. ENDLESSLY was a bittersweet but fitting ending to a unique and remarkable YA series. Here Evie ties loose ends and reclaims her independence and life back from the IPCA and the Otherworldly. It wasn't easy but it's usually the most important things that are the most difficult to do. In this case, Evie has to help the Seelie court and other interested paranormal beings' and their mass exodus from our realm to their own world.

Endings are usually filled with nostalgia and reluctant goodbyes. I felt those while reading ENDLESSLY as I've grown to love the world that IPCA is policing especially Evie and her snappy retorts and the rest of KWhite's otherworldly cast of characters. There's hardly a dull moment in the series specially in this one, KWhite really tried to end it with as much adventure and conflict as she can. And just when you thought it's over, the wheels turn again until we reach the climactic conclusion that had us and Evie bidding her friends farewell.
Can you fix my boyfriend?

You really ought to know better than to ask a faerie for a favor by now.
There were a lot of funny moments throughout the book, as expected KWhite brought her great and acerbic sense of humor. I guess my favorite is Lend's narcoleptic tendencies after the Dark Seelie Queen put him under a spell, I was laughing on those parts where he would just fall asleep in the middle of things. What I didn't expect was that I'll feel a little pang of sadness over Reth's conditional, and usually fickle, devotion and love for Evie. Until the end he was still trying to win her over and convincing her that she'll be better off with him but of course she chose Lend. Aside from these events, there are more surprises along the way as far as the rest of the characters is concerned. And to give you a little teaser, Vivian is back and she did something amazing that will impress you, I never expected that unselfish act from her.

I think some series followers will have mixed opinions and emotions about Paranormalcy's conclusion. Personally I think it's the perfect finish, IPCA can no longer monopolize things, the world is a little safer with the fae's exit and Evie has a clean shot at normalcy and a HEA with Lend. But the best part is KWhite gave it an open-ending so maybe there'll be a spin-off soon like Andrea Cremer's Nightshade SeriesFingers crossed, let's hope for that happy eventuality.
Again with the lines! What do you think this is, a B movie? News flash: you are not a real hero and we're not going to have a hot make out scene after we fight.
When I first read Evie's story I was so happy because finally we have another type of heroine who is independent, feisty and doesn't depend on a boy to make her day better. And this is the reason why Paranormalcy will have a special space in my YA shelf, the story was familiar but very unique at the same time. I will sure miss Evie and her crazy world but I'm also glad that KWhite didn't drag the series farther than the story required.

  1. I am still nervous to read this book. You know I fell in love with Reth somehow and I don't want to see him sad. I am not sure when I will finally pick this book up.

    1. I know! I read your previous reviews. Well his conversation with Evie was good but he really loved her in his own twisted way. You should read it, I like the ending because it wasn't perfect where everyone got what they wanted. It was fair and as normal as a fantasy story can get LOL.

    1. Thank you! It's a cute story and Evie's snippy remarks are my favorite. I love a girl who has a sharp tongue.

  3. It is so bitter sweet when a series ends. If it's a good ending it's sad yet you are happy at the same time.

  4. Good review. I have only read the first book but I have been meaning to read on with the series. The only thing that stopped me was I liked the first one but didn't LOVE it. I love that you say the ending is tied up and bitter sweet <3
