Tess Jennings, now a member of the Memphis Police Department, is on her first cold case. The suspected suicide of Lizbeth Knapp ten years ago isn’t a theory her family accepts—they believe she was murdered.

But the case is only one of Tess’s worries. Ghosts are talking, and word of her abilities rapidly spreads. A dark ghost is terrifying the spirits of Memphis, and she must force the entity to cross over.

Tess doesn’t have to do this alone. Not only does she have her ghost-lover, Kipp McGowen, but the department has brought in a medium. Dane Wolfe might answer all her questions, but he also brings a world of trouble. Will Tess finally have all she’s ever wanted, or will everything she’s vowed to protect be ripped away?

So in Supernaturally Kissed I said that it's so wonderful that Tess and Kipp have found true love with each other but it's also tragic that the latter is a ghost. In DEMONICALLY TEMPTED we see Tess and Kipp ride it out despite their physical limitations. Enter Dane Wolfe, a medium who works for the FBI out to train Tess and help her hone her gift. But aside from helping Tess with her current case, Dane got too invested in Tess' personal life which caused a rift between her and Kipp.

You're right, you can't choose who you love, but you can choose not to pursue it. Dane Wolfe

Stacey Kennedy is such a sneak! I was thinking of possible scenarios on how Kipp and Tess can be in the same plane so I was expecting death, witchcraft, possession, body snatching, etc. Boy was I wrong because what SKennedy pulled was totally out of left field or maybe I didn't cast my net of possibilities wide enough. I know I'm speaking in code but suffice to say that Kipp isn't the ghost we all expected him to be and Tess has a shot at Ever After with him after all.

I love you enough to stay here as a ghost until you join me.
And I promise you that one day I will.

Like it's predecessor, DEMONICALLY TEMPTED is sexy, romantic and a little scary. I think the succeeding books will be very interesting because Tess and Kipp will be going through some major changes and I'm sure some of it will be painful. Tess is now part of MPD and aside from regular ghosts, she's dabbled with demons and witchcraft so I'm sure that there will be more of this in the coming books. Not only that but Tess and Kipp's relationship is evolving and this is going to be a fun transition to follow.

The third book, Mystically Bound, which holds the juicy story of Tess and Kipp's relationship as SKennedy takes it to the next level, comes out Fall of this year. But while waiting, I suggest you go get a copy from Amazon, read it while you wind down from today's events.

Happy 4th again guys!
