The Manhattan Mermaids: Believed to be the most beautiful women in the city, they entertain wealthy, powerful men in an exclusive club called Fathoms....and are all virgins. Derek Prince doesn't believe they really exist, until he meets the stunningly sensual Xenia. She drives him wild with desire, but giving in to temptation means losing her position at Fathoms. Derek is incredibly turned on by the thought of being Xenia's first...but will he be willing to wait for her?

Mermaids, have cold hearts. To win the heart of one takes much perseverance
The story opens with Derek Prince, sharing the story of how he met and got involved with Xenia, a mermaid, while he's out with his boys in the exclusive club, Fathoms, owned by Kingsley a rich Frenchman who manages said mermaids. He proceeds to tell them his first hand knowledge and experience of being involved with a virgin mermaid and discover their ways. Derek spares no details in his retelling and ends it in a cliffhanger much to the dismay of his friends. Good for us, TReisz spared us the guess work and made us privy to Derek and Xenia's HEA.
Land is grand, Mr. Prince, but wetter is better. Some days it's good to be the King.
At 46 pages, this short story provides a satisfactory in-between read. There's not much going on story wise but it it had the right amount of steam to make it a good sexy getaway. Personally I wanted to know more about these mermaids and Kingsley in particular. The man is so suave and enigmatic, he's the quiet but dangerous shark in a suit that's too smooth for comfort, I find him more interesting than Derek. Now the mermaid myth left me guessing, I'm not quite sure if they are REAL mermaids or if that is what they call their group. Overall I'd recommend this to those who are into sexy romance readers.

  1. A naughty mermaid! Thanks for sharing this one!

  2. Wow, only 46 pages and it sounds so cool! I love that this book is about mermaids -- although I'll probably have to wait a few years before picking this up! *fans self* Otherwise I'm pretty sure the romance will brighten my face like a tomato as steamy romances always do :')

    Awesome review, Braine! <3

  3. Sexy mermaid type things in a short story - pretty hot.

  4. LOL Mimi you are so funny but I agree, wait 3 more years and youre good lol.

Kimba & Jessica - yes it is a naught mermaid book with a lot of lieterally wet scened like drenched in water wet lol.

  5. Hmmm, I can honestly say I've never heard of a story like this before! I'll have to pick this up when I'm in the mood for a quick and steamy book. Great review, as usual! =)

  6. Sounds like a nice read but the cliffhanger...hmmm...I get so impatient waiting for the next series book. Any idea when a follow up is planned?

  7. Sounds interesting. I like short sexy reads sometimes just to break up my normal reading. ;) I have not read a mermaid story yet, but maybe will add this to my TBR.

  8. I just noticed this us the author of The Siren. Does she have any BDSM in this book??
