Print edition of two previously released ebooks, TEMPT ME and BEG ME
These two stories basically tells a tale about two widows who survived abuse and their road to healing and love.
Warning: This book involves light bondage play, rape fantasy & role-playing. The acts between the hero & heroine are consensual, but they may not be ideal for all readers
TEMPT METEMPT ME is a romantic story about a widow, Rocki, who haven't fully gotten over the death of her husband, Brent, who died in the line of fire. It is through a serendipitous meeting with Cole in her store that Rocki finally had the chance to fall in love again.
She’s a temptation he can’t resist…
Roxanne ‘Rocki’ Monroe’s life is full of secrets and hidden heartaches. Cole Stanton would love to heal her pain and chase away the ghosts of her past, but she’s just a complication he doesn’t have room for in his life.
Or so he thinks.
It doesn’t take Cole long to realize he’s more than willing to let temptation get the best of him, more than happy to deal with complications if that’s what it takes to get her.
What he has and what he needs are two different things…and what he needs is Rocki.
I liked this little risque story even if things feel a little rushed. I identified with Rocki, she's an independent woman who runs the coolest lingerie store, Lush & Lace, specializing in sexy corsets, she has a woman's body, curved and soft in all the right places and she can kick some serious ass too! I felt her grief and tentativeness over Cole and letting the memory of her husband go. And more importantly, TEMPT ME's plot is as solid as the R-rated scenes.
BEG MEBEG ME is a a tad more explicit than TEMPT ME, I honestly felt dirty after reading this second story, maybe the Librarian in me left her Naughty somewhere.
Beg me…there had been a time when those words made her burn with desire. But now, there was only fear.
Once, Tania Sinclair’s life was almost perfect…But a couple of tragedies later, she’s barely holding it together. A car accident took away her husband, and an attack from somebody she should have been able to trust has shaken not only her confidence, but it’s also stripped away her fantasies and even made it painful to look back on her memories of her husband without fear.
Two years after her attack, Tania is determined to take her life back and the first step is taking back herself…her fantasies, her dreams, her memories. There’s only one person she can trust to do it, too. One person she wants enough…Drake Bennett, her husband’s best friend.
But I seriously think it has something to do with the story than the smexi ones. Like Rocki, Tania is a widow who is grieving the loss of her husband. Subsequently she was raped by her brother-in-law who unbeknownst to everyone, was very obsessed with Tania for the past 8 years. Her mother-in-law then proceeds to harass her, blaming Tania for her sons' deaths. But Tania wants to move forward with her life so she sought the help of her husband's bestfriend, Drake, to provide sex therapy for her.
See I find that a little ridiculous, stripping any form of romance that I might get from this survival story. I can't explain myself in depth without saying too much that might ruin the story for you. But my opinion is it felt too trailer park for me to enjoy.
Overall, BOUND TEMPTATIONS is an enjoyable read, it's hot, sexy, emotional and relatively dirty on some parts. I like the abuse survivors angle of the stories because a lot of women go through this in one form or the other. It might be fanciful but every story resonate with us differently and hopefully this will give hope to those who have come from a similar background. This book is a good way to test drive Shiloh Walker's writing style if you haven't read any of her works yet, like me. She can write romantic, vanilla sexy and she can also go dark and very dirty.
