When twenty-year-old police recruit Kiera Hudson is posted to the remote town of The Ragged Cove, her life is changed forever. Investigating a series of horrific murders, grave desecrations and missing persons, with her unique ability of ‘seeing’, Kiera soon realises her life is in danger.

But when Kiera is crewed with Police officer Luke Bishop, not only is her mind and heart opened to a terrifying new world, she comes to suspect that Luke might be involved in the killings.

In a race against time to unearth the truth, Kiera must discover the identity of who or what is behind the gruesome deaths on the ‘Vampire Shift’
Maybe you've heard but Tim O'Rourke's Urban Fantasy series is creating quite the ripple in the self-published world. It's a permanent fixture on Amazon's top 100 "Children's Fiction" list and looks like it's there to stay.

So what's the fuss about?

In a nutshell, Kiera Hudson is a 23yo girl, new in the police force, a super sleuth dealing with her mother's disapperance three years ago and her father's recent death.. She can see things that other people, or creatures, tend to miss. She got assigned to The Ragged Cove, a dead end for most newbies, because of a series of murders and desecration that has been happening for years. But Kiera proved that she's more than capable and that made her a target to the mythical Vampires.

Of course there's more to it than that but I'll be giving too much away.

I had this since last year because my favorite girl, Michelle from Novels on the Run was gushing about it and what a great value it is for $0.99. So I went ahead and got all four books but it's just recently that I finally had the chance to read it. I was about 30% into it when I realized that I was into the book for over an hour. VAMPIRE SHIFT is a page turner and Kiera Hudson's ability is just so impressive and fascinating to me. It's like reading an episode of CSI.
Like my father had been, I was only interested in facts. But I could remember him telling me that once you had studied all the evidence and had dismissed all the theories and rumours, whatever you were left with, however unlikely, was the truth.
So at about 1am, I was really sleepy but my head is buzzing with the murder-mystery ravaging the Cove much like the classic Sherlock Holmes movie. Fast forward to 1:30am and my eyes are really getting sleepy and just when I though I could finally put a bookmark on the page and drift to sleep, O'Rourke would pull another number on me and would jolt me to wakefulness more effective than coffee.

Tim is currently writing 2nd series of Kiera and it is awesome!!!!! He is just so clever!!

I always get like a bit crazy when I am reading his series as I am emailing him with all my moments of GASP!!! etc....I personally think Vampire Hunt is just crazy good and Vampire Hollows was a WOW!! last book for the first series.

Tim has such fun and his spontaneous moments always catch me out. Plus I live playing the music Kiera listens to on her ipod in a particular scene to be in the mood as I read it as Tim really does choose the music Kiera listens to well for his book.

Have a ncie sleep girls, the bunny comes tomorrow for us , so I shall be up at the wee hours hiding the googs as we still have warm weather so they melt if out in sun..ha!
