Our Last IMM

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren and was inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. It gives bloggers the chance to appreciate the books they've received, purchased, borrowed, won or traded during the past week and the wonderful opportunity to meet new people.

IT'S TIME FOR ME TO READ SOME ANITA BLAKE
SO LOOKING FORWARD
TO THIS!

This was a joy to read. Lizzie Nichols reminded me a lot of Becky Bloomwood (Shopahilic, Sophia Kinsella) but instead of shopping well she babbles, a lot!

NOTICE:
Because of the recent hoopla about The Story Siren, we here at Talk Supe decided that we will no longer use the IMM meme that she's hosting moving forward.

Like most of you, we respect other people's voices and uniqueness but more importantly we value and protect the integrity of our opinion, it might be flawed but it is ours. And though at times it's very subjective we own and stand by those ideas 100%. Plagiarism is a deplorable act and we choose not to support or be associated with someone whose values are confused about this matter.

But to be fair, TSS had something good going with IMM as it added another shade of fun to an already exciting world. We met new people and hit other fun blogs. So in the spirit of this innovative idea, we'll still share our new titles but we'll call our meme something else.

We present to you
BB&B
Bought, Borrowed and Bagged
(meme to follow)
Inspired by Mac's beloved bookstore owned by Jericho Barrons from KMM's Fever Series

So if you're looking for an alternative to IMM you're more than welcome to participate in this meme. We'll still share our new titles every Sunday and we hope that you'll still come visit us and share your new books, we'd love to see what you bought, borrowed and/or bagged over the week regardless of what you call your meme.

  6. I love how you're making a new meme in replacement for IMM too! :) I think that so many people are right now, which makes me feel awful for Kristi, but I don't think I can continue supporting her blog either when I've made such a big deal about not condoning plagiarism!

But aside from that, you two have some amazing books this week!! Clockwork Angel was one of my epic favourites, and I've heard awesome things about The Vincent Boys too so I'm going to try to get my hands on that! And anything that has Meg Cabot's name on it is bound to be sweet ;) I hope you enjoy all of your books! <3

  15. Hey ladies! Amazing haul this week! As far as the Story Siren crazyness, I had already put my post together before I got the news so I decided to go with it this week, but have been looking for alternatives. It's really sad because IMM was the biggest meme of the week for me with hundreds participating and coming to my blog, but there is just now way I can support someone who has gained success through plagiarizing. I was so shocked because I have loved Kristi and looked up to her for awhile now. Really sad when we find out our heroes are frauds. :-(

Anyways, a Fever themed meme? Yes please! I'll be looking forward to participating! Will we possibly have a meme header pic sometime soon?

  16. I loved the beginning to Hamilton's series. I lost interest when it became more about the sex than the paranormal aspect, but it was a great start!

    1. Yeah this plagiarism thing really rocked the blogosphere. Unfortunately in the world we move in perception is reality. We don't have anything personal against Kristi but at the same time we were turned off with how she handled the situation.

  18. Oh man the scandal from the Story Siren really has caused such a hoopla. I really enjoyed doing IMM, but will no longer participate in it. Why I came out with my own meme.

  19. cute meme name! It will be interesting to see which memes pull through after the hoopla dies down.. On to the books... ya for Anita Blake books, the series is one full of ups and downs, but I always love reading it :) I love Meg Cabot too, but I haven't read the Queen of Babble books yet, but I hope you enjoy them. I am tossing my meme hat into the ring too! I created one for me too.
I dont suspect many will follow (none at all actually..lolz) but that's ok :)
I wanted to do something for me. See what I could do and how I could make it different.
