In My Mailbox #7

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren and was inspired by Alea ofPop Culture Junkie. It gives bloggers the chance to appreciate the books they've received, purchased, borrowed, won or traded during the past week and the wonderful opportunity to meet new people.

If I were to have a superpower, I'd like to have the ability to touch-read books so I can finally make a serious dent in my TBR pile. Or maybe I'll move to another planet like Jupiter or Saturn so I'll get more hours in a day. I got a problem, I know.

Cimmaron:
eBooks bought from Amazon
Love finding all these contemporary romance books/novellas on Amazon. I have't picked up a PNR book since Lover Reborn and I'm really enjoying reading stories about "normal" humans. I never knew I could like stories outside the world of vampires, werewolves or other supernatural beings. I finished On The Island earlier this week and LOVED it. It's already on my Favorite Reads from 2012. Read my review HERE.

  9. What a full mailbox. Like you, I have so little time to read all that I want these days. I recommend the World's Fantasy Winner, THE BLUE GIRL, by Charles de Lint. Faeries, pixies, ghosts, and human bullies. What a mix. I know you liked the cover for THE RIVAl. Come to my blog today to see the newest image Leonora Roy has crafted for my BEST OF ENEMIES. (Still in construction for a June release.)

    1. Thanks! I've already read a couple of them since a lot were less that 300 pages. Just good romance stories to pass the time. The covers look like they would be really steamy or smutty but it was a good balance of romance and light smut. LOL!

  14. I always know now which books are Braine's and which are Cimmaron's now btw!! I'll tell you how!

Cimmaron like me has become a book slut, and though we've always enjoyed our smut once we let Fifty open my eyes to "mommy porn" LMAO we've done gone smutty and we can't go back!! And if reading smut is wrong then we don't wanna be right!!

And Braine, well she hasn't been corrupted yet, and I'm proud of her for not letting Fifty corrupt you like he did us!;)

Great books but I'll have to say I love Cimmaron's the best this week!! Hehehe ;) Hope you girls love all your books!! XOXO

    1. *cough* *cough* sorry to disappoint you but my formative years were spent on Mommy Porn so I'm in remission now but I still have my moments. Mostly I just watch it BWAHAHAHAHA!

Some of the covers of those books look like they could be really smutty but they were mild. They were nothing like Fifty. I just got them because it's about these women falling for billionaires. I know you and I have the same goals in life....meeting a hot billionaire to sweep us off our feet and shower us with fancy clothes and designer shoes. Just wish it would already happen! All this waiting sucks. LOL! And we must make a promise to each other. If either one of us meets our destined billionaire, make sure that they have a single billionaire friend to hook up with your blogger buddy. LOL!

  16. That's a fun idea for a super-power! I think I'd moderate it so I could touch-read super fast, but slow down to a crawl as needed. :-D You know, for fun scenes. What would also be fun? A touch that turned the read back into the first time ever at any point in the book.

Enjoy your haul!!! So many books!!

  18. Lovely mailbox girls!! Now I wonder where you won Here..hehe!! Yes there is somewhat of a difference in Cimms reading box and Braine's and that's what I love you both have such different reads. Cimms looks full of smexi lust, which is always wonderful. Lookie at Braine she has BHF...eeeeppp!!! Hold on to you seat for this one.

    Nice boxes girls:D

    1. Michelle - I'm like a manic depressant when it comes to my reading. When I overload on PNR I get depressed because I don't have my own hot vampire or werewolf to keep me entertained. When I get to that point I switch to a different genre. Since reading Fifty Shades I went towards the contemporary romance/erotica route. It was fun for a while but now I'm starting to get depressed because I don't have my own millionaire/billionaire boyfriend to lavish me in riches. What makes contempt worse is that the situations in the books could actually happen between real humans but nevers to me! LOL! Now I'm stuck and don't know what book to read next. Maybe I'll pick up some zombie books to change things up.

    2. Yeah you can't fall for Zombies. Decaying flesh isn't sexy... but I'll take a hunter as long as it's Norman Reedus bwahahahaha!

    3. Awww you girls make me laugh. I have finished Fifty # 1......WOW!!

I read all over the place. If it's a great read I am in! I thought I was strictly PNR but now.....I am surprising myself. Love UF!! I love the smexi but it doesn't have to be smexi or uber smexi. I just want to be entertained!!

I actually am loving Zombie...who knew?? I love Jonathan Maberry...it's not about the horror and gore , it has that of course as it is Zombie but it is deeper, emotional for the characters. The first two start off a little slow as world building but then....hold on....book 2 made me cry...ugly cry...:D
