Casual Vacancy - J.K Rowling's New Book

Casual Vacancy
by J.K Rowling
Release September 27

When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty facade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils…Pagford is not what it first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?

A billion dollar brand with every merchandise imaginable from sippy cups to theme parks, J.K. Rowling has it all. We've all been curious what her next project is after Pottermore and now Little, Brown Book Group announced J.K.'s new novel set for release on September 27 (now available for pre-order on both B&N and Amazon) and dubbed Casual Vacancy as blackly comic.

Well we know that J.K. can pull off writing dark, mysterious action plots because Harry Potter kept us on the edge of our seats the entire time! Who would've thought that we'd be invested in the life of an orphaned Wizard? But like the rest of the world, we are curious to see if the magic remained with Rowling after Harry retired.

It's a known fact that only a handful of authors were able to successfully cross over genres especially if they're leaping from one audience to another. But Rowling has a strong following and first generation fans like us are grown and ready for a good, grown-up Muggle story. All I can say is we here in Talk Supe will be rooting for Rowling's new enterprise.

We'll be waiting...

  1. I honestly probably wouldn't pick this up if it wasn't a J.K Rowling book. But I'd buy anything she writes! I hope it'll be good. :)
