Girl Crush Mondays: Sherrilyn Kenyon

Sherrilyn Kenyon

This lady is a consistent bestselling author with more than 25 million copies of her books sold worldwide.

My first introduction to Sherrilyn Kenyon was with her juvenile series, Chronicles of Nick. I burned through Nick Gaultier's stories in mere hours and I knew that I have to get me some more of Kenyon.

Which led me to the sexy world of Dark-Hunters. You see, I'm still in the infant stages of Urban Fantasy as my usual book cocktail involves chick lit, historical fiction and a touch of supe once in a while. It's only after committing to this little project with Cimmaron that I really took the plunge and   got into Urban Fantasy and all it's sub and mixed genres.

And that has been one of the best commitments I ever made because Dark-Hunters totally changed my perception of vampires and all that. All of them are sexy and tortured, I can't pick a favorite! And the most amazing part is, even the villains get their own story, seriously Dark-Hunters is a gift that keeps on giving. As I moved on with the series, the line between good and evil gets more and more blurred and right now, I'm not sure if I would align myself with the Hunters or the Apollites.

Until now, men, women and teens have fallen in love with her characters. RPG pages and twitter accounts are made all in the name of her Hunters. Our very own friend, Aaron Speca, is an avid Kenyon fan and is a member of Sanctuary, a Facebook page dedicated for Dark-Hunter RPG.

But what I like best about SKenyon is, like J.R. Ward and KMM, she does male POV very well. And though she's a female writer, her men are not emasculated by her voice. So every Dark-Hunter book is filled with serious action, spontaneous fits of emotion and combustible passion.

Some Fun Facts:

She likes Naruto
She collects swords
Chronicles of Nick and Dark-Hunters is being developed for the screen and are now in manga too!
Lords of Avalon novels are being adapted by Marvel comics
She has novels printed under Kinley MacGregor.
She has an upcoming series called Nevermore. The first book Alpha is scheduled for release on 2013 and the second one Omega is TBA.
Her brother Warchild is the official Dark-Hunter music composer.

Here's SKenyon talking about this in last year's Comic-Con. Chronicles will be a movie, DH a TV Series and Were-Hunters adapted into anime! Woot! Woot!

Can. Not. Wait.
