Courting Demons

read an excerpt
I got this for FREE when LibraryThing had a giveaway. I was procrastinating starting the book because I had it before I got a tablet and staring at the computer screen to read an ebook is quite challenging aside from the headaches I get at the end of the day.

So finally I got around to Kerri Nelson's story and I'm happy to say that this is a light read and the plot line is really ridiculous. The story s interesting: a woman who turned to magic to punish her cheating husband and accidentally turning him into a rat. Then she found herself playing civil judge to demon matters.

It's funny on some parts (husband turned rat) but the humor didn't translate entirely on the story. But I liked how the villain, the vampromancer Camden, got some page time and an inside scoop on his nefarious plotting put more weight on the twist of the story.

The rest of the characters are borderline absurd as well as the demons in Paisley's court. A dragon seeking fire insurance compensation, Werecats and Weredogs fighting over a top post to name a few.

This is a feel good book where justice was served and the guilty parties punished. I'm not sure if there's a sequel on the work but this was a fun read that helped pass the time.
