A dangerous game of life, blood, and survival becomes a deadly triangle for three, unsuspecting souls: an ancient vampire, a mysterious woman, and a street-wise human…

Before it’s over, each will face a chilling BLOOD AWAKENING.

Marquis Silivasi is a loner—an ancient vampire known to be merciless, harsh, and unforgiving. He has lived to see his dark twin sacrificed, his parents hunted, and the one soul he was sworn to protect, destroyed by his enemy.

When a mysterious female with a secret past shows up in Dark Moon Vale, her presence sets off a strange set of events: It is as if she has awakened the sleeping soul of the valley…and the Curse of Marquis’s birth.

Bound to each other by primeval law, the two must forge their way through an ever growing maze of danger, deception, and destiny. They must find salvation in a world without mercy, where survival demands a chilling BLOOD AWAKENING.

This book is something else. In the first quarter of the book I was already inlove, excited, heartbroken and disgusted.

So Blood Called ended with Ciopora Demir, one of the two last female Celestial Beings smuggled to safety by her brother Jadon during the height of the Blood sacrifice, waking up to Marquis Silivasi's cries of anguish. On that first meeting they already know that they have been dreaming of each other for 1500 years. Unfortunately, the Heavens have something else in store for them and Marquis finds himself mated to a human female, Kristina Riley. But don't get too worked up because it all ends well but you have to find that out for yourself. Let me just warn you that you'll be kept in suspense the whole time.

Tessa Dawn's Vampyrs are not edgy, they're SERRATED. One they've sank their fangs on your system, they'll pull out with pieces of the readers so you'll worship and crave more of the Silivasi brothers. They are a combination of danger and sex in equal amounts. The Dark Ones are fascinating as well and they are pure evil. I got misty eyed when one of the human female they've abducted begged Nachari for death because she's ruined inside and out, she was reciting Psalm 23 while Nachari euthanized her. Now the fight scenes on the Blood Curse series is nothing short of spectacular. The magic that surrounds these preternatural beings is something that surpasses any vampire myth I've ever read. It might be a little bit exaggerated how they command the elements but given these Vampyr's make-up it comes as no surprise. I actually felt the beginning of a crush for Nachari Silivasi: green-eyed, black and emerald wings and a pretty face to boot! What more can a hopeless human like me ask for?

I like the mystical layer and the intrigue that this sequel gave. The parade of emotions I've felt throughout this novel were the extreme kind. The Silivasi brother's love and loyalty to each other is so moving like BDB. The last couple chapters of the book scared me because

Nachari Silivasi's eye
I thought Marquis was going to die and chose to sacrifice himself instead, all that guilt about Shelby's death was really haunting him.

Well Blood Curse is far from over and I don't see this series as a trilogy because there is so much delicious story that can be weaved from all this. Based on the epilogue, it seems that Blood Possession will be Napolean Mondgragon and Vanya Demir, Ciopori's sister. That is very interesting given that Napolean is the current King of Jadon's line and he's witnessed how the curse consumed their people. I'm curious to read the depth of Tessa Dawn's myth plus I want to know more about these Ancient Romanians and all the details that went down with the curse.

  1. Finally catching up. So sorry I missed this this. Happy you loved it hon. I am with you, the progression really does remind me of the BDB. I am crushing on Nachari too. Seems every woman that pops up in this series takes notice. I am dying for his book. I am so with you about the ending with Marquis. I had tears in my eyes, it was so intense. Great review hon and again, glad you loved it too :)
